We had always seen the restaurant and never thought of going to eat there. So glad we finally did! Very homey middle eastern vibes. A nice lady greeted us and gave us a very warm welcome. Their royal coucous was delicious!! Portions are very big for an amazing price. The lamb literally melts in your mouth from how softly its cooked. Definitely recommend this place

Very honest ppl too…I had left an expensive ring there by accident, and the lady returned it to me 7 months later when I went the next time…very impressed by her honesty! Thank you ?
You would never think to order spaghetti at Mediterranean restaurant. Well I do, it is so good and tasty. It's amazing, I don't know what spices that they put in it but WOW... I'm actually from the Toronto area and when I go to Ottawa to visit family I buy the spaghetti every time. When my family visits me they bring it for me. The couple that owns the restaurant are so kind and humble. I would recommend to anyone. Love it.
This is an awesome place. I am here almost every single week! The staff is amazing and super welcoming and accommodating.I am not Algerian and never been in the Middle East but I love this place! The services are good sized. I like the Tajine and Gratin. They look super big in the menu but do not get intimidated. It is a generous portion but definitely doable for one person.Also the coffee is great!
We had a great experience with our online order of 2 chicken grills. The food was ready to be picked up about 30 minutes after the order. The chicken grills were plentiful and absolutely delicious. A great experience!

Ordered takeout a few months ago. The food is very good but portions were small given the prices. $16 for the kafta plate just wasn't worth it. The eggplant gratin also very good but tiny portion for $17.
We had a great experience with Idriss from start to finish. The couple that own and manage Idris were wonderful both in responding to our questions email and in welcoming me when I arrived for our takeout. This was our first experience of Algerian Cuisine. We loved it and are looking forward to the next time.
If you want to try authentic Algerian / Mediterranean / Maghreb food, this is the place in Ottawa. Very delicious traditional dishes and an excellent customer service. I highly recommend this place.
This was our first visit to Idriss. The staff were very helpful, explaining the different things on the menu. We ended up ordering the Royal Couscous (sausage, tender lamb, chicken and vegetables) and a tagine with meatballs and eggs. We have had similar food in Morocco, but this was tastier. We had baklava for dessert, it was still warm from the oven.
