So personally I would never go back to this restaurant. I am a kind of sushi person who likes the non-basic sushi things, like eel, squid, octopus, rolls with cream cheese, etc. for me the eel and octopus was really bad. Not fresh at all, to the point that the octopus felt like I was eating rubber that couldn’t be chewed a part. Was super dry, where you could tell it wasn’t ordered by people very often and not replaced to keep fresh. Honestly the worst was the roll with the cream cheese, the cream cheese had a weird texture, the fish had a weird texture, and overall just a unpleasant taste. And I mean like it tasted like they used expired ingredients. Was so bad that it actually made me have an upset stomach and not want to order anymore sushi. Definitely would not return again because I have had a lot of sushi places and never left feeling sick from the food not being good. I don’t like salmon but my husband does so he ordered more typical basic rolls. These were better as they tasted edible he said, but also were not fresh at all. Not worth the dinner price at 37.99 a person, and honestly I wouldn’t even go back if someone offered to pay for me. Definitely do not recommend for anyone who actually likes and has experience with sushi. Maybe better for someone who doesn’t know better
Decent sushi buffet, lots of varieties, food was good, service was quick, recommend is you’re looking for a quick place to get sushi.
One of my personal favourite sushi places in the area. Love how they still got all you can eat lunch I understand most sushi places only offer dinner buffet nowadays. Loved the sushi excellent quality. They offer a discount for online pickup. Pretty decent pricing.
My daughter was turning 7 and she wanted to go there with a friend. However her friend wouldn’t eat the “all you can eat” and we were willing to pay whatever she would ask from the menu. I called, asked if they could accommodate three “all you can eat” and one kid choosing from the menu and the manager didn’t even answer my request. She started screaming with the attendant while I was on hold for 5 min. And then I was told that the manager was “too busy” to answer. (It was 5pm!!!). No matter what they literally tell you what you will eat there. No choices at all. The attendant even offer that my kids could be sitting separately from us in order to eat something from the menu. Lol really???? Customer service was always terrible there, but at this time was the worst. There was another time that we found a hair rolled in our sushi, and the manager again didn’t even care. Maybe was a regular situation? Don’t waste your money there. We ended up going to another sushi place that was wonderful. Very good opportunity to find a better customer service.
Possibly this is the only sushi buffet in downtown Ottawa that offers delicious sushi and Tempura items. Easy going and friendly staff. Hard to find parking around the place but it is worth it. I diffentely recommend this place if you are looking for sushi buffet in Downtown Ottawa.
Great prices for all you can eat sushi. The sushi was great, loved the variety. The teriyaki tasted great too.
Service is terrible. Our order did not come. The service robot brought our food to the wrong table. Very pricey for a very lousy service.
Great Sushi place in Ottawa and good variety of food. Personal favourite - cheese wontons. Just one feedback- maybe having an ipad would make the process easier !
Used to be my favourite place, but now everything on their menu has increased to such ridiculous prices, at least for delivery. I get it; they're trying to make a profit; but nearly $7 for a crunchy roll? And since when do they have $16 maki rolls? Sad, but now they are just being ridiculous. The mango rolls were always hit and miss for freshness, but they also routinely failed to deep fry rolls that were supposed to be deep fried when it came to delivery.
One of the better spots for all you can eat (AYCE) sushi. Restaurant was clean and service was great. The server came to check on us very often and refilling water without us asking. The sashimi was partially good in this location in comparison to other AYCE sushi restaurants in the city.Food wise, the quality seemed significantly better than other AYCE sushi restaurants in Ottawa. They even have a robot Cart to deliver your sushi to your table. One thing I notice on the menu is they have a lot of dishes with mango sauce on them. Personally I don't like mango on or in my sushi as the flavours don't mix too well in my opinion but they do have a lot of other options for sushi.I'd definitely go back again and I've already let friend know that Hokkaido is now open for dine in again.
