It's a shame that scaffolding is covering most of the view of Happy Goat right now, because you almost can't see it at all, and definitely can not tell it is open without going right up to the door. We were very glad to have noticed that it is indeed open and had some very good coffee here one morning. The girl at the counter was very polite and friendly. We were excited about their day-old 50% off donuts! They still tasted great! We had them for breakfast with our Iced coffee. So delicious! We noticed that being downtown this place gets some interesting guests and the poor girl at the counter had to take some heat from a gentleman who had mistaken her for someone else and was being very persistent. We actually felt bad leaving her alone with him in there when we had to go. She handled herself very well and we supposed she may be used to it. The shop itself has cool graffiti-type sayings on the windows and comfortable seating areas set up all around. They do an array of different cafinated drinks, as well as some later evening drinks with alcohol. It was a really cool little spot!

Super cute shop, one of the only small cafes that actually makes their drinks well! Kind of a weird placement for a cafe, but still great!

Happy Goal Wilbrod, Ottawa University Sandy Hill district...best coffee in the neighborhood with the possibilities to buy craft beers and excellent donuts!

Great selection of drinks and coffee. Cool and sweet snacks. They have a cold tea of the day. This place is a hidden gem. Awesome patio. Friendly and attentive staff. Wide variety of demographic go there. Cool to people watch and see different walks of life. The vibe here is positive and just something we can all use. Great atmosphere. Definitely going here more often this summer. Cheers y'all ?

I wish I could give 4.5 stars! The atmosphere is awesome (I've only been to the one on Laurel), like getting transported into another location when you cross the door.Food (scone and muffin) were tasty, coffee delicious!I can't give 5 stars because there was no butter for the scones (gasp!) and I had to ask to get the scones warmed up.Will definitely go back (hopefully they've added butter for the scones!).

Each time I visit Ottawa, I look forward to getting a coffee at the Happy Goat. Their coffee is incredible! However, in this recent visit I was hugely disappointed in the difference in the quality of coffee served at the Sandy Hill location to the 229 Rideau Street location. We bought a coffee from the SH Rue Wilbord location and it was as anticipated, absolutely delicious. The following day, I was craving another HG coffee and went to the Rideau St location. While the server was friendly and the breakfast sandwich was good, the coffee was absolutely terrible!! It was bitter tasting. I wish that I had tasted my coffee before we left as the it was almost undrinkable. If I had seen the variation in reviews, I would have checked and asked for a fresh cup. I would have been willing to wait as we passed many other coffee shops along our way where we could have easily stopped and gotten a coffee. Perhaps the reason some people are giving the HG brand a poor rating is the lack of quality control among the locations. Something for head office to look into...

Best coffee in Ottawa, so far. The staff is friendly and I always get a consistent quality in my coffee. Also a great place to buy freshly roasted beans. The cafe vibe is casual,l and warm. There's a small patio/outdoor seating space. Lots of parking space.I love grabbing a coffee and walking around this area. It's industrial but quiet and filled with art studios. You'll leave here happy as a goat :)

Had the seasonal dring “toasted marshmallow latte” i would say 10/10 definitely tasted the toastiness. Great space, serene atmosphere. Recommend for the coffee lovers with a good book and love of art! Forgot to take photos ?

I would not go here, personally! I would never support this business. Not worth my hard earned money.

Recently ordered Brazil Mogiana Espresso and Peruvian Decaf. Both were excellent in lattes (I mix them 50:50 so I can drink more coffee with less caffeine). I am always impressed by the service and quality from Happy Goat. Great local company!
