Great quality, service and value for money. Their menu is nicely laid out and I'd say hands down the best portions of sashimi in Ottawa to date. We've eaten at almost all sushi joints in Ottawa and we've compared most to Vancouver. This was a pleasant surprise. My only feedback is the lack of cleanliness of the bathrooms and the amount of dust around the sushi bar area - I would have given 4 stars otherwise.

110% Recommended! Absolutely fresh sashimi, amazing plating, and friendly service. As a self-proclaimed sushi connesuier, the sashimi was fresh and well sized. I was wow-ed by the cuts and playing of the plate. They were quick to serve and extremely friendly. I wish I could write more but it was a simple experience. Great food and service, I can't wait to go back!

The food was really good, as was the hot Sake. We had pork Gyoza, the Veggie Maki Dinner and the Tempura Dinner (Shrimp & Veggie). The menu had lots of selection and the prices were standard for Japanese fare. The service was also good and we got ice cream as a treat for desert. This is place is a must-eat/return.

Excellent bento with maki, tempura, miso soup, inari. Great taste and quality. I especially liked that it was quiet enough that we could hear each other. Other people had ramen bowl and maki lunch- all top notch!

Love their spicy salmon and tuna makis (my go-to's). They do rice right and I've always enjoyed the meals I get there. Excellent service with a friendly staff, it makes for a great date night or takeout.

I wouldn’t recommend going here for ramen as it is subpar and unauthentic. The broth tastes watered down. The spicy ramen option was all spice with barely any dimension. There was a very unexpected, subtle coconut curry undertone to it. Unfortunately, I have had instant ramen with richer flavour. This place seems to be more well-known for their sushi though, which I haven’t tried. The staff are friendly and the service was timely.

Situated among the many dining options in Bank Street, Hanabi Sushi offers fresh and great quality sushi with a menu that is vast, with plenty of vegetarian dishes and non-fish options. This is my go-to sushi spot in the neighbourhood that is not really your over-the-top fancy place, but an excellent family run sushi place that has never let me down. The dinner set includes ? ??????, ? ????, ?????? ????, ???????, ??????, ????? ????, ?????? ????, ???, ? ?????????? ????, ? ????? ?????? ???? ??? ? ???? ????. Their ????? ?????? ???? is my absolute favourite (second slide) along with the ?????? ??? ???????They serve both traditional and specialty maki rolls, sets of nigiri and sashimi, and unique sushi options like the sushi and If you prefer noodles over rice, you can try something from their noodles and ramen menu. Or for lighter meal options, they have delicious kaiseki and appetizer options. It’s the perfect location for an upscale lunch or dinner that won’t break your bank!

That ruined the experience... first and last time trying. first container opened... on a large order.

The food was absolutely delicious and the service was prompt and friendly. I ordered ramen, and each of the ingredients in the soup was cooked to a good texture -- nothing was overcooked. The flavours blended nicely and the broth was wonderful.

These 5 star reviews are confusing to me - either we came on an off night or the standard for sushi in Ottawa is really this low. The rice tasted old and stale, and the fish was clearly low quality. That being said, the customer service was wonderful and our server was very attentive and friendly. I would give them the benefit of the doubt, but there are several other reviews that had the same experience we did, so we wont be back.
