We celebrated our first born, first birthday at this restaurant since we checked in at Lord Elgin. A small but cozy place. Serves semi-fine dining experience with good quantity and quality of food for it’s price

Such a good bar experience!! My parents often come to Ottawa to visit me here and normally stay at the Westin. Changed it up this time and stayed at the Lord Elgin so we went to the bar for a few drinks. Sue was our bartender and was literally the nicest and most attentive tender I've had in time!! Shared lots of stories and made us feel like we were the only customers in the building. Also made amazing drinks :) 110% recommended if your passing by and want a drink and some good company.

This was my second visit. The last time was too long ago to comment on.Today, we were a convocation party of 8. Our servers, Christina and Chris, took good care of us.Sorry, no pics. The lunch menu was small and all the options were very good.

Food was good . Salmon was done excellent. But the service was extremely poor. The only person who really was keen to make our dinner good was the bartender. The waitresses - one was older lady , the other was young one - never brought what was asked . I had to go to the bar to inquire about our order .The older waitress ignored us like were were some kind of beggers from the street , even though we stayed at the hotel. The bartender went beyond his duties to get our order and bring us food. The chef and the barterner made sure my food was gluten free. I would give 5 stars for that.

seriously. it makes no sense how bad this place was, im a garbage can and the salmon bagel was INEDIBLE. I literally eat ANYTHING and the salmon put me in a dark place. Took 45 minutes to get it to add insult to injury. Salmon was plastic and melted together. Holy moly please avoid these lemons.

Ambience is pleasing. Service is somewhat slow with salad coming minutes before main course. No bread unless specifically ordered. The fish (that came with the fish & chips) was dry. Even the "home made tartar sauce" did not moisten the fish. Waiter was not readily available during the meal. First and last time at Grill 41.

Grill 41 claims to be a destination restaurant for steak and wine. I was looking forward to the experience and unfortunately left with a sense that it fell short of expectations. For the price, the steak was very average and the wine list less than impressive. The restaurant is conveniently located, but there are other options in the area in terms of overall dining experience.

Disastrous experience. I booked for 7pm, a family with 3 children. I had called around 3pm from my hotel room at the Lord Edge to do so. The lady I spoke to on the phone seemed to have taken my reservation. When we arrived, no reservation was noted in their system. Waited 30 minutes standing in front of the entrance to get a table. Several other people were waiting behind us. We waited another 30 minutes to place our order. All the waiters seemed overwhelmed. I asked for a refill of water which never arrived. Waited another 45 minutes before deciding to leave the restaurant without having received our order, nor even water. In the end, we found ourselves outside at 8:45 pm hungry and angry, looking for another place to have dinner. Really, I don't recommend it at all.

WARNING FOOD POISONING.Do not eat here. There was several issues when I came to Grill 41. To start, only one waiter was working which made the wait times ridiculous. I ordered the aged steak Mid Rare. Half of my steak was cooked for my desired temperature and the other half was RAW. I couldn’t eat half the steak. The vegetables came out cold on the plate AND they forgot an entire portion of the dish the sweet potato purée which I will say was the highlight. After already complaining about the missing items I figured It just wasn’t worth getting my steak recooked so I left it. Later on in the day I threw up and was glued to the toilet seat which I thought was unrelated until the other guests I went with reported the same gastric symptoms I was experiencing. Overall there’s no reason to come here. The food isn’t good, the service isn’t either and the ambiance isn’t a selling point. You can find so much more for the same price and that won’t make you sick.

I looked for a nearby restaurant while waiting for the NAC Box Office to open. I booked a reservation on-line (first mistake). It was raining and after walking over we found the doors locked with no notice of where to enter. Obvious choice was to then go around to the Hotel entrance. Waiting at a barrier we were finally told to move forward to where the one outside entrance would have taken us. After more than a few minutes a server came and asked if we wanted a table without confirming I had a reservation. (this is where the on-line reservation got me annoyed .. they had sent me several messages wanting me to confirm and then reminders of my time..annoying.) A quite sparse menu was on the table. Nothing stood out at all. The daily special was Beef Stroganoff that appealed to us. It was sufficient in quantity but not remarkable in taste. The house red wine was a distinct saving from the wine menu. I was uncomfortable sitting near a young couple who I would say was over-served. She started 'singing' into the second bottle of wine and he was offering her $300 to stand on the table and do just that. The atmosphere was noisy and not relaxing at all.
