Excellent sandwiches, great butter tarts and a good frozen selection. Unassuming, but there's a very good reason why Franks has stuck around for 20+ years.
I wish I could give Franks Catering more than 5 stars!! Excellent sandwiches and pies. The staff here are always incredibly nice; Amanda went above and beyond for us so Thank You!!
Went for cannolis and ended up coming home with cannolis and a 1/2 dozen different butter tarts because they looked so good! Everything was delicious! Staff were super friendly. Will have to try their sandwiches next time. They looked amazing! Prices were good.
The best sandwich in town! This is their #1 Frank’s special on a gluten free bun! Wow! ?
The tarts are the main attraction, with many types to choose from. Also a great place to grab a fresh made sandwich, but plan ahead and check out the menu before going as they have so many options! The frozen meat pies, cannelloni, lasagna, etc are great to have on hand; just pop in the oven for a great meal. The dessert pies are also tasty. Always fast and friendly service too!
Sandwich heaven. Simple ingredients but of the utmost quality. You can get arguably the best sandwich in Ottawa for 8$!? I love the wrap but the bread sandwich was also very good. My new go to.
you now have a regular an hour away from nepean..all thanks to my amazing mom cathy *from next door*....the butter tarts and wraps and sandwiches are delicious...and i heard the salads are good too....wednesday nights wraps from franks are my go to now!!
Can’t beat a Franks sandwich. Expect if you top it with one of his butter tarts. Simply a must visit!
Best sandwiches and wraps in the area. I go for the #4, #14, #22 or a #29 on a sundried tomato. If you feel like a tasty messy one that will most likely require a fork and knife, go for the #15 or the #21 you will not regret it. Can’t forget the pastries and frozen meals they have. Everything is great including the coffee.. you will never leave unsatisfied.
We're big fans of Frank's pastries/pies and have purchased them every year at the Cumberland Farmer's Market. During a visit to the Monet exhibit on a Sunday, Frank's had a kiosk at Lansdowne. We stopped to check out their wares and came home with a Guinness Steak & Mushroom pie. Last night we finally pulled it out and heated it for supper. The pie looked great and so did the contents when I served it up, however two things I noted quickly was the pie was very salty (and I like my food well seasoned), and salty to the point I couldn't eat it. I'm not a crust person so admit to eating it largely without crust attached, Not sure if that would change anything as the salt was quite overwhelming. Second was I had hoped for more visible evidence of mushrooms in the pie, but only found bits vs slices or chunks. The crust was very sturdy and my fellow diners seemed to enjoy that thoroughly so I trust the crust was to their liking. Hoping the salt piece was a one time quantity error in that batch. Also hoping to make a visit some day to their bricks & mortar store after reading such great reviews of their fresh sandwiches, and to pick up some apple crumble dessert! We have a chicken pie from Frank's still in the freezer. and am ooking forward to sampling that as well.
