We quite enjoyed our dinner tonight! It was delicious! Jimmy our Chef was entertaining and funny. I was also impressed by the way the food was organized on a platter before cooking it on the grill. The restaurant was very clean. We chatted with an older gentleman (Manager or owner) who was knowledgeable in Ottawa and it’s history. Definitely recommend! 5 star!

yummy food! great first experience

Really awesome place to kick back and live in the moment with a delicious meal cooked in front of your eyes. Great quality ingredients. A skillful and funny chef. Overall definitely recommend although there isn't a lot of variation in the sauces being used. Still delicious with a very friendly staff! Good times! Oh and for some reasons they were out of sake which did surprise me but hopefully it's not a common occurrence.

This was an awful experience. We had to wait for over 20 minutes despite having a reservation. Once we were seated, we had to wait another 20 minutes to get our drink orders taken. Those who ordered cocktails had to wait an HOUR, and were made to seem like an inconvenience when they inquired several times as to where they were. I, upon ordering my third beer, had the female server say "what!? Are you sure?! You've already had 2!" in front of my party of 7, which was embarrassing. The chef was good, and I have no qualms about him. Finally, when taking bill payment, the server kept checking to see how much each person tipped her. The server made me uncomfortable several times, and as such tainted the whole experience. I won't be coming back.

Terrible experience. Our reservation was at 7, we arrived at 7:10 and had to wait to be seated. We didn't have a server show up until 20 odd minutes. When she did, she took our orders: 3 beers, a sake, 2 cocktails. The beers and sake showed up relatively fast. We waited no less than an hour + before the cocktails arrived. We had our food orders taken after another lengthy break, reminded our waitress twice about our cocktails, the second time we got a rebuttal that "it takes some time to make them" after which she promptly milled around the bar and served cocktails to other tables. The food had arrived before our cocktails. We sat around for an hour before half our drinks and our food arrived. Then one of our group asked for another beer, her third one, to which the waitress asked: are you sure? You've already had two. And then she laughed. Very embarassing and absolutely unprofessional. Finally when we got our bills and tipped her appropriately, and yes we did indeed tip her after all that, she checked each one of our bills and didn't thank us because it was low for her I guess. Terrible terrible terrible service, won't be going back again. One caveat: the teppanyaki chef was very entertaining and friendly.

Wouldn't suggest to anyone. After reading reviews I was skeptical about booking a reso but we did anyway. After arriving for our reso early they stated they had no reso and had no room and essentially were not able to eat lol. It's a joke of an establishment and only operating because they are the only place offering this experience. This review won't help anyone I'm sure.

Super excellent, dinner was amazing!!Also our chef Peter was also excellent.Excellent service from the ladies too ??

We had a wonderful entertaining dinner last night. The main course was so good, I had the filet mignon and lobster. Both cooked to perfection.

The food was amazing, kind courteous staff and funny! Awesome colorful drinks.

Upon arrival at exactly the time of our reservation, we were left in the lobby for 20 minutes with no staff member coming and giving us an update on when our table would be ready. Finally we were sat down and although we had 8 in our party, two other random people were sat at our table. In a COVID situation, that wasn’t appreciated. Finally the chef arrives but he repeatedly mis-timed the cooking. He started out cooking the filet mignon for a couple of people in our party and then let it sit and get cold while he cooked the NY Steaks for other members of our party. After that he let the NY Steaks get cold (and the Filet get colder) while he finished cooking the shrimps for all of us. Oh and the vegetables, which went on the grill first, we’re sitting on the grill the entire time. At this point, he still wanted us to wait until he cooked the noodles before he wanted to give us any of our food. However we insisted on getting at least the meat but had to point out that we hadn’t any sauces. So we ate the meat cold. Oh and let’s not forget how he magically ended up with an extra plate with some meat, shrimp and vegetables. A plate that belonged to no one at our table. So not only did he mess up the cooking, he also messed up on the splitting of the food.I have had Teppanyaki at multiple restaurants in multiple cities and this is by far the worst experience I’ve had. This was supposed to be the celebration for my best friend achieving a major life’s ambition but it was an unmitigated disaster.
