Gorgeous tulips everywhere for us all to behold and enjoy! Lovely walking area in Ottawa!
We went to the canal to skate. The parking is a bit far from the canal entrance and the ice is horrible. Bumpy, has holes, with snow on the ice. Usually it's well maintained and among the most beautiful outdoor spaces I've ever been to. Possibly the weather or time in the season? Understaffed because of covid maybe or the NCC did the very minimum upkeep, expecting less people because of the pandemic?
Beautiful. I took a nice walk around Dows Lake. Lots of geese and different types of ducks. Lots of benches to stop and rest. Beautiful willow trees too! The only downside was the parking- cost me 10 dollars to park for an hour and a half walk. (Parking accepts cash, credit and visa)
Staff here are very helpful, boats and equipment are in great condition. Best place in Ottawa to rent kayaks and other boats - I’ve been to them all and the customer service here is by far the best. Still run by teens who sometimes are chatting with each other and standing in the way, but they’re ready to help you get in and out of the boat when you arrive and it’s very well organized.
Walk, paddle or just sit and enjoy the lights on lake at night. Best place to see tulips in May.So clean.
This afternoon my boyfriend and I called Dows lake Pavilion Canoe rental shack to confirm the hours as well as ask if we’d be able to bring our puppy on the canoe since we had a 45 min drive to get here. We arrived at 5:45pm and were told “we’re closing early today”. When I asked why, I was told “we just decided”…Having driven so far with our young puppy, we were very disappointed that the rental company would close an hour and 15 min early “just because” while the teens running the stand played games to see how many canoes they were able to run across.
If you’re in Ottawa you have to visit here. Love this spot

This place is good for enjoy but too much algae in water near by deck. I personally feel that they need to clear it once in a year so it looks good and increase beauty of place
