Well…. The whole airport food offering sucks! Came in from Montreal to fly out of Ottawa to Moncton, NB because flight wa 3 times cheaper than flying from YUL. I guess I know why now. Got in the Darcy at around 6 pm… kitchen was about to close and they could only offer fried food (fries and chicken fingers that is) not even fish and chips. Anyway, since it was about the only choice around here I sat down and ate. Staff friendly, was really sad for them that they couldn’t do more.
Terrible food, $20 for a plate of wilted lettuce and cold grilled chicken. I wouldn't have even served this to the customer. I felt bad for the server, he was very apologetic and had talked to the supervisor who refused any compensation. She didn't even come talk to me.
Worst, most overpriced airport meal ever! All four of our fries were stone cold , my calamaries came with 5 little cold strips of rubbery somethingat $17.00 ! The one star is for the server. Stay clear and just head straight to your gate!!!
Well, it's quiet here during Covid. The staff were very friendly, and the food was better than a lot of pubs we'd been to...I had a burger, my wife the chicken sarnie. All good. But..here's why the low score..what do you think every Irish Pub should sell? Right. Guiness, or other British beers on tap..NOT B$$ Lite, Stella, or whatever sewage passes for beer in airports these days. You can't call yourself an Irish pub if you're not selling a decent ale.PS..what's in the pics...they're not on the menu either.
I recently had the misfortune of stopping in at D'Arcy McGees Ottawa Airport for a meal before flying to Calgary. The service was fine but the food was terrible. The hamburgers my wife and I ordered were very dry, with no juice whatsoever, as though they had been reheated before being served. When I mentioned this to the waitress she said that they had been having complaints about this and offered me gravy to put on the burger. I declined as I wanted a hamburger, and not a hot hamburger sandwich. Absolutely the worst! We will never be back.
Long wait. Incorrect order. Bland and unseasoned food. Would have been better off with a bag of chips.
Food was good, if (as usual at an airport) drastically overpriced. Very limited selection (understandable for breakfast) but felt understaffed - feels like management that wants to save a few bucks by rolling the dice and leaning on good workers who probably don't get paid enough.Based on service alone this would have been five stars; Reynaldo was a superstar and clearly staffed by himself when we got there. Our flight was cancelled so he got overrun, but handled it with grace and humour. Obeyed health and safety and genuinely improved our bad experience with the travel as a whole so far.
On stopover we tried to have dinner, however due to the staff being run off their feet, our food was delayed with our order forgotten I suppose. Then we tried to pay with an Ultimate Dining gift card and no one knew how to take payment this way. Food came later, and we made our flight so everything turned out fine except wished we could have paid with the gift card we purchased to use at this restaurant.
