Very tasty food for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend it. Service though needs a bit of improvement. Lady at the front taking orders did not know they were out of several pretty essential items on the menu and had to come back to us several times to ask for changes to our order. Also it was around 40 min to closing when we placed our order with no people inside. We sat down and waited for the order. It was prepared for take out even though we never asked for take out as we were hoping to sit and eat. We were told no inside dining 30 min before closing, this should have been communicated at the time of ordering. Anyway...small service hick ups but food and prices were very good and definitely will come back.
Food wise, it is some of the genuinely most delicious and fresh tasting food I've ever had. I love it and I get takeout all the time.My issue is that I have tried dining in a handful of times and it has been a bad experience each time. There were very, very dirty and dusty tables, chairs and windowsills. One time some alarm had malfunctioned and was going off the entire time, staff didn't apologize or even acknowledge it, just exchanged expletives among themselves. A couple of times the staff was so indifferent and cold, which shocked me because the owner is lovely and I truly expected a much better standard.I actively avoid eating here, which is saying a lot considering how incredible the food is!
Heard really good reviews and experienced today for the first time.Extraordinary service and the food is just out of the world.A must try is hummus and falafel.Wrap is a bit dry but if you ask they can make extra saucy.A MUST VISIT.
The zatar wedges were SO GOOD. Fresh and crispy with great tasting spices. Stay away from the garlic sauce though. It has weird consistency and doesn't taste much. The falafel sandwich was also good.
I have been looking for a place that makes great falafels and finally found a place that makes the perfect fresh falafels. Also, the amazing variety of hummus and all the different flavors really was a pleasant surprise. Will be back here weekly for my falafel and hummus fix!
Literally the best falafel I've had in my life. And that's even after traveling and trying it in the Middle East. They do one thing and they do it right. My favourites are the Go Beet and the Go Roasted Jalepeno. Go Beet is def a lighter, fresh, taste. Go Roasted Jalepeno is closer to the classic or original but with a nice kick to it from the roasted peppers.Sides are also good, I like the Fatoush. The portions are so generous though that you'll be totally full after the sandwich alone. The employees are always super friendly, I've been coming here since the beginning and it's honestly always so welcoming and friendly.Whether you're a vegan or not, this is a must-try for everyone in Ottawa.
Definitely go check this place out! Absolutely delicious and so fresh! We had the avocado wrap and the roasted pepper wrap, and both were phenomenal! The employees are super friendly, go support this local place as businesses are struggling so much right now!
This is a perfect review because the food that comes out of this eatery is amazing, thanks to the dedicated and hardworking owner and staff. I often take the 25min hike from Orleans just to get a wrap or soup. Looking forward to my next one in early Jan. Enjoy the downtime, Chickpeas staff -- I'm sure it's been a tough 2021!
This is my favorite restaurant in the whole city… and yay it just happens to be vegan. Other places you leave feeling hungry… NOT this place Geeze Louise!.. so delicious and filling. Great staff. Clean. Amazing food. Support local.. eat at Chickpeas!
Thanks so much Omar! My dad enjoyed the falafel sandwhich and the hummous. He said the fattoush was delish and the soup he said was excellent (which is high praise coming from him coz he is so picky!!). I only have 4 coz we didn't dine in.On my behalf I think the falefel was amazing as always! Thanks for the taste while I waited, which was a short quick wait!
