We just came all the way from Manotic to have an ice cream! We ordered and We are waiting over 1 hour and still no service. There is only one server with over 12 tables and 40 people. It is ridiculous! I asked the server and the gentleman over the cash about our order and they are still working on it!We left! Not come if back for sure.

I want to say I understand that there are a shortage of workers right now but 1 person working for the size of establishment at Landsdowne is ridiculous. We didn’t get greeted when we came in, we got seated without a word being spoken to us. Took at least 15min to give our order and a half hour before we received it. My crepe was crunchy like nachos (which she refunded as soon as I told her) my friend got an ice cream which was full of ice you could her the crunch in her teeth. It may be good when it’s fully staffed as per other reviews here but def not today!

The food is great but they're super understaffed and the service is very very slow. We waited half an hour for a couple of hot chocolates. The store itself is also pretty dusty and a lot of the lights seem to be malfunctioning. This place needs some serious love.

My experience at cocoa 70 has completely destroyed my self confidence. I sit watching other diners pay and leave the restaurant while I am still waiting to place my order. I got here before all of them. I’m starting to wonder if I’ve somehow become transparent? I can’t yet comment on the food even though I’ve been here for 2 hours but I can comment on the service, which for me has been absolutely horrible. I was here for 20 minutes and was only able to place my coffee order because I went to the server station to do so. My coffee cup has been empty for an hour and there has been no offer to refill it. The servers seem more interested in sorting utensils than making sure customers are satisfied. I can’t add all the details but I am very unhappy. I had high expectations.Update: the bacon was horribly undercooked and there was rotten spinach in the salad. See pics.

I LOVE their cheesecake, I ordered it three days in a row after tasting it for the first time. Their cheesecakes are super light and fresh. The ambiance is casual: good for hangouts, and dates

I can honestly that was their hot chocolate was the best I’ve ever had. The temperatures as perfect, the taste was amazing and it was topped with whipped cream! There were also so many options and I tried the choco nut waffle which was very good.

What happened Cacao? When they first opened I loved it! I went there every week. Sure, I’ve been out of the country for last 4 years and in that time they’ve expanded but wow today sis and I ordered take out and it was absolute garbage. The crepes and fruit were soggy, my sister’s waffle was cold and dry. Sis said she might as well have gotten Eggo waffles from the grocery store. The whipped cream and ice cream were packed in one container. Overall soggy and dry food is not what we were expecting. Utterly disappointed with the Cacao 70 I once knew and enjoyed. This won’t be my go to dessert place in Ottawa anymore and will be looking for a new one.

Chocolate lovers paradise for sure but staffing shortages mean food took a while to come out and some people were done while others just starting. Will give it another shot as the crepes were delicious once things get back to normal. No savory menu at the moment and not a good place if you have gluten allergies or Celiac.

We ordered the black and white fondue, double portion (for 2 people). The fondue stick was rusted as can be seen in the pictures. The fondue didn't have a candle to keep the chocolate warm. The brownies were 2 bite brownies from grocery store. Finally, the portion was very small to force you to order extras for extra charge as can be seen in the menu picture attached.

Not the best. We ordered a Nutella crepe and it came cold and dry with barely any Nutella. A waste of money
