The food was delicious, went with the tasting menu and gave us a great sampling of the food they provide. The drinks were very interesting as they were a twist on the usual staples other restaurants provide. A great place for a date night.
downgraded my review. Went back for dinner and it was not a good experience. Every other table seemed to be in the same party, people standing around us on all sides talking over us, social distancing nightmare. I was embarrassed I'd brought my guests there.Food was still tasty but everything else ruined it.

Love the cocktails here. Friendly service and amazing, creative food, great for sharing and trying a lot of different things. Problem: On my most recent visit, shortly after two people at my table had just ordered drinks and we had been served one more plate to share, the server told us we had to leave the table in 15 minutes to make room for the next reservation. Then she brought us the bill. We had not been told at any earlier point that there was a time limit on the table. This put an unexpected end to an otherwise enjoyable evening. Two of us had to leave unfinished drinks behind (and they're not cheap), and we didn't get to stay for dessert. We have been coming here for ages and we love it, but we were not too impressed with the abrupt way this particular meal ended.

It is a fun little place with a solid and interesting menu. The food was very good but not outstanding. One thing that was outstanding was the Kale salad. I didn't expect to like it but I loved it. The cocktails and choice of wines by the glass is really very good. The only disappointment was the desert we chose (Chocolate explosion). It tasted like a fully cooked through Duncan Hines cake with nuts on it and the cost of $16 was insult to injury on this one. But hey, very few places are perfect. The wait staff were good and friendly but not engaging. There are lots of great places in Ottawa so I won't make this a regular destination but I would definitely go again.
I've been here many times, and it's always been amazing. Excellent, flavourful food, friendly and efficient servers, quirky decor, small and quiet. Love the place.
Small menu - however - what was prepared was excellent. Do go to the Belmont. You won't be disappointed.
