Used to LOVE this place but it's really gone downhill... As per the other recent comments pizzas are small, raw and a minimum tip is forced upon pick up. We ordered 4 pizzas and took out a measuring tape.. They measured 9". When we called the women said they are 12“. We were just going to eat them but the crust was sticky, wet and undercooked. This place isn't what it used to be. We returnes them so they could see why we were upset.
The pizza was pretty good, the sauce had a very "tomato" taste, I know it's not fresh tomatoes but for a tomato sauce it was fresh. The dough was good, traditional not to overshadow the pizza itself. The cheese good job, no complains there. The pizza was small for the price, it's good pizza, it's not good value. One star gone, not critical, I would probably go back if I wanted that specific taste and I'm not necessarily looking for best value when I go out for a pizza, this isn't Pizza Pizza with coupons after all.And the reason why 2 stars are gone on a takeout I was handled the terminal and I had to pick between 18, 20 and 23% tip if I recall. No option to put "no tip", no option to put 15% if you dined-in, that's some shady business practice right there: another two stars gone. I had to ask to put no tip, you know how awkward this is?! I'm a man of principle, but I'm sure many customers won't say anything and simply won't come back.
While pizza is great the service was deplorable with staff focused more one Gooding around in kitchen than having orders ready.
So Overrated...I was expecting the taste I have in mind, thinking the dough would be made of special/organic wheat , blood red tomato sauce (like the ones I had in my country). So Ordered 2 pizzas,The crust was chewy and wet, very light topping!!They were at best OK.Nothing to blow our minds away.Going back to my pacific veggi from Domino's.
Good pizza BUT :for this price I expect more than 4 slices of salami on my pizza .I also been scammed into paying tips, no other options then the 3 ones given by the machine and it starts at 10+%.I will not be ordering takeaway or eating here again.I lived in EU where you will easily find similar pizza at the same price with MORE TOPPINGS and not need to be forced to tip.
Sweet Paloma serves us graciously and efficiently beers, and their famous pizzas, Carbonara and Marguarita... excellent!!
Kitchen staff not wearing masks, servers not wearing masks. Also I think it’s rude to have an open concept kitchen just for the staff to act like no one can see them. It was just a weird vibe and super uncomfortable it felt like we were intruding on their hang out time. Food was great but the service ruined it. Also the fact that they clearly had no respect for COVID protocols.
You won’t find better wood fired pizza than this. I’ve tried this style of pizza from a nice few restaurants in Ottawa and nobody really comes close to Anthony’s. It’s an absolute must try if you consider yourself a pizza lover.
Very nice authentic pizza place of ottawa. I would like to start by saying pizza like this will always be better when going to the location. Very friendly atmosphere and great vibe for this restaurant. Even though I got the canadese you can immediately understand this is not some drunk greasy typical Canadian pizza hahah I categorized it as fancy night date style pizza. I'm more of a 19 star scale pizza guy and I'd give this a 7.6. One of the better ones In ottawa. Definitely go check these guys out!
Really enjoyed some nice artisan pizzas from Anthony’s. The texture and flavor profiles were nice and light. I ordered the Rustica, which comes with cherry tomatoes, Arugula, shaved Parmesan, and prosciutto. The toppings combined tasted really nice together. Sometimes when I am craving for a non-greasy pizza, this is one of my go-to places in the Hintonburg neighborhood! :)
