Teddy's has been around for a long time. Food is tasty and homemade. Lots of deli selections like corned beef, smoked meat etc in addition to homey meals like hot turkey and chicken Parm.
Food is ok. Service is ok when you get the attention.
Great food, friendly staff and atmosphere. Prices range from about 15- 25$ a person but the portion sizes are very generous. You won't go home hungry!
This is a hidden gem in Oshawa. Absolutely fantastic deli with more of a traditional diner atmosphere. Food and service are top notch. Prices are very reasonable for what you are getting. Definitely worth stopping in for a meal.
I had not gone to Teddy's despite living close to it until recently and I feel like I was missing out. First off the staff are enthusiastic, friendly and know what they are serving. The atmosphere is eclectic, vintage and clean. Now to the good part of the food, oh boy I'm a fan of a Reuben sandwich and I was not disappointed when I got one from Teddy's. I now understand the local popularity. If you have a chance to stop by Teddy's and want a great sandwich or other classic homely meal this is a place to visit. I did thankfully get to try their well known, and obviously popular salad dressing (you can purchase bottles of it to go) and I was impressed. Delicious!
The value for your money is unbeatable!!! Had the turkey dinner (real turkey, real mash potatoes), which I couldn't finish! Prices are more than reasonable, service was friendly and attentive. You'd be hard pressed to find a better dining experience in all of Oshawa for the prices Teddy's charges.
Having never tried this place before, my wife and I had heard great things (especially about dessert!) and had anticipated the same. The interior decor reminds me of older well established family restaurants, with plenty of booths for up to six people (seven with a chair at the end) and some smaller booths and tables. They definitely cater to the family life. For lunch, the menu was of the same era, sporting a great selection sandwiches and burgers with all the usual trimmings. I had the reuben sandwich and my wife the classic Turkey BLT...we shared an order of onion rings (home-made).The service was friendly and fast and the meals were both delicious. We had heard about the fantastic coconut cream pie from our informants so we got one slice to share then and an entire pie to go. Great idea from our waitress.Needless to say, she more than earned her tip and Teddy's became our go-to place in Oshawa.
Food taste good and the service was excellent. The strawberry pie is just fresh strawberries with whipped cream that cost an extra $2.42 (not told about this extra charge), and the coconut cream pie is really just cream filled. One of the most un-authentic pies ever vs. fresh fruits. Plus, there was also an extra charge of $2.68 for a Caesar Salad? Not a good practice to charge extra without been told first. Good thing I did not order an Onion Soup with pepper!! Plus I experienced a small stomach discomfort and watery stool one hour later.
Needed a lunchtime meal, and had smoked meat on my mind. Hadn't been to Teddy's in a year so stopped. had to wait almost 10 minutes to be seated. This should be expected as demand for lunch is high from here. Folks are nice, as always. Food comes shortly after order. The sandwich was loaded with meat. Hit the spot. Quality food here. Try it!
This place is still very good but not as great as when the original owners had it unfortunately as some of the food quality and service level has gone down a bit from how I remember it back in the day. It is still above average and the portions are hearty and the prices are more than fair for what you receive so kudos to them for still providing a great value to the people of Oshawa and those who visit. The food was fresh and still tasty and the house salad dressing is still on point. The desserts were awesome as that coconut cream or strawberry pie is something to write home about. I’d always recommend to try this place out because it’s still a great time and for the price and what you get it’s tough to beat. Expect a slight wait at peak hours because it is a popular place and does get busy at times. Also there is plenty of parking so no issues there.
