50 Dollars straight in garbage !!!!! DISAPPOINTINGThis review is specially for Bowmanville location because they are not on google ! The butter chicken was all sweet orange colored water with big pieces of flavorless chicken and small container size is being sold as medium for 15 dollars, such a rip off , small and medium size same ! Garlic nans were like chewing gum and really sad and to top it all deal makhani with stones like uncooked dal ! God save people who order from here I heard lot of reviews for Oshawa branch and that’s tried to give it a shot !
They are very unorganized, slow and the portions are only suitable for children as very, very miniscule. My last order was so small and cost me $50 for two adults, I was totally unimpressed and still very hungry when I finished. I never went back!!
We were here Saturday April 2nd at around 7pm. Everything was great, except I took a bite of the Garlic Naan and bit into a rock! (As seen in the pics) I can only assume it was part of the tandoor and got stuck in the dough - at least I hope so as opposed to the other potential, it was dropped on the floor before being served, Luckily I didn’t swallow it or take a huge bit into it but I definitely felt it on my teeth. I told the wait staff and they just replaced it with a new batch, she thought it was just overcooked burnt, but I can assure you naan cannot be this burned. PSA: check your naan for rocks!
I had entered the restaurant very excitedly but my spirits were crushed with the lacklustre vibes ( both in Oshawa and Bowmanville ) and in fact, I felt everyone around was being greeted nicely except me and I don’t know why.Food is decent but not authentic Indian ( biryani rice is not genuine Indian style rice and naan is not Indian style).A positive vibe, equal greetings to all customers and improved food experience can make this a good fare, so I hope they take the feedback positively.I love Indian food take out every weekend but will be exploring other options in Durham region for now.
Authentic flavorful flavors. Fantastic food and the spice wasn't over powering. Literally drove from Toronto to try this place out with a friend and it was worth the road trip.
Always super happy with the food I've had here (both takeout and when it was open for dining). Gluten free items clearly marked, so many delicious vegetarian options, good portion sizes and I love being able to customize spice level! :)
Our first experience here was positive. The food was on point and the price is decent but the portion size is a tad on the small side so it's a wash. I'm interested to try some of the more authentic dishes in the future
We were regular customers of Spicy Affairs and it has been a few months since our last order. Tonight, we ordered their classic Butter Chicken - Spicy. Well, we found that the spice level was non-existent both in the Butter Chicken, and in the Pulao rice. The portion size has definitely changed. The Naan was overdone and was smaller. We ordered Kachumber salad and had nothing but chick peas and lack of spice/seasoning. (I don’t recall it ever having chick peas) The Raita had no cilantro or spice as well, and found it very runny. This was so disappointing considering it took almost 2 hours for our order and costs more than other restaurants. May be our last time.
We have eaten here many times, see my other views on place. The last 3 times we have ordered the quality is lacking, lamb tough and watery, cheese naan bread with no cheese and rice missing some of the ingredients that made it so tasty. Time to try other local Indian places. PLace is also looking very dirty and shabby.
Used to order from here all the time and the food was good. On the last order, the food containers were half the size but the price remained the same. $15 for a half size butter chicken container?? That's ridiculous. Will not be going back anymore. You can get far better value elsewhere. Silver Spoon for instance; large portions at more reasonable prices and the food is better. Very disappointing.
