If I could give this place no stars that would be better. Because I'm tired of giving this place the benefit of the doubt. They ruin shawarma name. Every time I go to this place, I find myself eating the sandwich in a plate with a fork and a knife. The wrap crumbles every single time, it is a complete disaster. It breaks apart even though there's very little sauce in it. My family and I really miss the old owners, please come back North Oshawa really needs you.
The portion size compared to the cost has always been impressive at Shwarma 401 but their customer service is even more impressive. They are so amazing with new customers and equally as amazing with existing customers who are trying something new.To the owner(s), your staff that were working on May 21st towards closing time were phenomenal at representing the business and it's commitment to customer service.Thank you for another great customer experience.
We used to order from here all the time since the food was delishes and for a good price. Not sure if the business was sold or new management, it has gone to bad. Last time I order ahead, still had to wait over 30 min for my food, while when you call to place the order they tell you go to straight to the front for pick up.
The girl serving food has no standard. I was coming from work, not dressed suit and tie. She served me half the meat which I normally get. Its true some nationalities judge people by their looks and change their standards.
Worst Chicken Shawarma wrap I've ever eaten.Person prepping the wrap ripped the pita into two pieces instead of stuffing it like most other places I'm used to. They do not put the chicken on the grill after cutting like I'm used to which usually gets that crispy but juicy texture. They then tried putting as much filler as possible into the wrap to the point where they couldn't seal the end(s) correctly (see picture). This lead to more than half of the wrap falling out while eating. The actual taste of everything was terrible, I was essentially eating it for the sake of eating.Better suggestions roughly within the area would be to visit Pita Land (South Oshawa) if you can get there while it's open or visiting ohShawarma.
If you are in work clothes the girl making shawarma will put less meat in your shawarma. Is this not funny?
Best shwarma restaurant in Durham Region. I order over the phone for call ahead pick up and I ordered three family packs. The customer service was excellent. The food is delicious and I absolutely love the garlic sauce, so fresh.
WOW! Just amazed at the amount of food you get for the family platter. I asked to see if I could get all the different meats and the owner kindly obliged. Got all three meats, lots of potatoes and a tray of salad and sauces, which included sauces for the salad, hummus and the garlic sauce. The kids loved it, as each one prefers different meats. I like the yellow rice better than the white one. We all enjoyed the feast of a dinner!
I had the chicken plate and my husband had the lamb plate. It was amazing! Their garlic potatoes were so good and the meat was extremely tender. Best part is its all halal. Will definitely come back!
I recently did some work for this gentleman, and he was gracious enough to buy me lunch. The food is amazing, this is legitimately the best shwarma I have had in years. The chicken was incredible and moist, the fillings were fresh and crispy. The portion size was extremely generous and I was not able to finish the wrap I had. The best part for me is I saved the remainder for dinner later that evening and the pita was not soggy, it was just as good.I was able to see how meticulously him and his staff prepare the food in a clean new kitchen. It was a pleasure to meet the owner who cares about about his store and is genuinely a great guy. Thanks for the meal.
