Love Schooner Fish & Chips!I cannot recommend enough. They have gluten free options and are so careful with cross contamination/packaging the orders.Staff has always been so friendly and food is very good. Definitely check them out whether you are gluten free or not!

Schooners has always had the best halibut and chips. We have been going here for many years. The owner is amazing!
Had the haddock and chips, with tartar sauce and coleslaw. The haddock piece was gigantic and very filling, but one end of the fish was just batter with no fish in it. The fries were very soggy but tasted great. The coleslaw didn't look very appetizing but it was actually good in taste, it looked like the cabbage was all grinded/mashed up. The tartar sauce was excellent too. The restaurant, although I did takeout, was very clean and the staff seemed friendly. Overall I will eat here again but it wasn't a perfect five stars.
The only gluten free fish and chip place I have seen around! The place has amazing haddock but the fries were a little too bit oily for me. The taste was there and I couldn't tell that it was gluten free.
I love fish & chips, especially halibut. The day I was there it was greasy and more batter than fish. Hope when you go it will be better.

This little gem is an exciting find for this Gluten Free dieter. No being able to eat gluten I was excited to find out they offer gluten free fish and chips and the best gf doughnut holes yum. What's even better is your non GF friends any family can join you while you eat there safely. They are friendly and very nice. One of my favorite Durham finds.
I very seldom am able to eat out without fear ( celiac). This was wonderful. The staff were excellent and the fish and chips exceptional. Thank you for a great meal.
Ordered 2 specials. Fish was awesome tasting as usual. Never liked there fries. Wish they tasted like the chip truck on Ritson road south. Anyway portion size for our order was very small. Hard to believe actually. Been going there for over 30 years. Called owner back regarding this even took a picture of it when we arrived home. She didn’t care , we were shocked of her response to be honest. Time to go somewhere else. Too bad what a shame.
