The portions were huge, most of the staff were friendly, and a wide selection of ice creams.The reasoning for my 3-star is for the disorganized way of ordering and the unfriendly demeanor of, what I assume, was the manager or key holder.We had three cones to order, but when asked for our order, the staff immediately walked off to get the first cone, then a second employee came to get our second order, and finally we placed our third order with the original staff member.During all this confusion, the girl who I assume had some authority, started barking at us to move the line down. We hadn't moved yet, because we were still trying to put in our order.When we finally got to the cash register, my husband was trying to explain to the gentleman at the front of the line that his ice cream was still sitting on the ledge. While he was speaking, the same rude girl, without even looking up from the paperwork she was now doing, informed us to move to the other side of the counter as she closed the til we were standing in front of.All I ever ask for from people working in customer service, is to be treated like a human being. A person who would like to be treated as if their patronage matters, and that they aren't a thorn in the employee's side. This woman acted as if we were scum beneath her shoe.It isn't fair to rate a company a 1 star because of one person's inability to be kind to others. We will likely return, but if I saw this woman behind the counter, I would turn heel and go somewhere else.
Always good!Close to a million choices.Staff always good and friendly.Last 2 visits we went late at 9:45.With 3 staff-2 were cleaning up/closing duties while 1 girl scooping (I think she was new) and cash. Line up was doubled right to door.The girls family was in line and they were all talking to her and joking/cat calling-shes still trying to work and joke with family. Really slowed down the service. Not her fault, but its just busy end of day.
Delicious Kawartha Dairy ice cream served by friendly staff. The servings are very generous and well priced. The store also has candy, giftware, butter tarts and other treats.
Ginormous proportions, outstanding service, excellent taste ?? ? I ordered the big baby (3 flavors of your choice served in a cup or a cone), and my brother ordered a baby 2. Wish I'd got a bib to go with these ??
Diverse selection of Kawartha Dairy Ice Cream and their milkshakes are probably the best you can get in the Durham Region! Not to mention, they also feature some interesting novelty snacks and souvenirs/gifts in the store as well. Kind customer service by the staff - always my go-to snack bar in Oshawa!
Small shoppe. Carries the best ice-cream, Kawartha Dairy. The servings are incredible. A little baby is sufficient for me, but husband loves the big baby.They also carry tubs of ice cream, other novelty candy items, and some decor items like punny signs.
Serving sizes are great… Quality of ice cream even better! Customer service is horrible. The last 3 times I have been in the 2-3 months, I have been served the wrong thing after being clear on a simple order, have been greeted with attitude, horrible communication skills, girls talking so quiet can’t hear them and when ask to repeat they get snotty. The girls working there are not pleasant. Need to be trained in customer service more. These girls are in their late teens so they should know better on how to treat people.Oshawa Location.Will be driving to Hampton General Store from now on.
We came in for some dessert about an hour before closing and were surprised to find the place a lot busier than we expected for an ice cream shop to be in the middle of a Canadian winter.Nonetheless, the staff were pleasant and cheerful, and served us heaping helpings of delicious Kawartha ice cream.The value here is outstanding: even the “little baby” smallest size is enough to feed an adult and then some, and the milk shakes are also very generously topped with whipped cream. You get a lot more bang for you buck here than at other “big brand” creameries.Pro-Tip: you can have the milk shakes made with chocolate milk instead of regular milk if you just ask.
We came here for the first time yesterday and my ice cream was bigger than my head! The flavours are tremendous, and I highly recommend the banana flavour. The shop is adorable and has some pretty cool treats beyond ice cream too. They also have some pretty nice apparel that gives me vintage vibes. Highly recommend.
This is a great little convience store. It has a lot of great Kawartha ice cream flavours. The prices are pretty good too, especially considering the portion sizes you get. It will definitely fill you up quite a bit!
