Three stars simply because the waitresses were amazing and the food was delicious. The young girl who greeted us at the door didn’t even know what a high chair was. I advised her that there was no soap left in the washrooms, her response was “I know”…. Thankfully there was sanitizer at the front desk. We all used the washrooms prior to leaving the restaurant and there was still no soap in the dispensers. Regardless of our COVID state, not having soap in a restaurant washroom is down right disgusting. Like I said, the stars are for the waiters, (who hopefully washed their hands)….
I did not get the opportunity to eat here but I wanted to come on and thank two staff members who helped us on Saturday following the storm! We turned into the plaza because of a grinding noise coming from our car and when we got out, we realized our bumper was hanging. We think the water pressure must have caused damage when we drove through a section of road that was slightly flooded. A young lady whom I wish we had asked her name, got our of her car to help us push a tree out of the way. She then searched Orleans for zip ties or string but unfortunately, everything was closed and therfore, went into her place of work (Swiss Chalet) and returned with a man and string. They together tired up our bumper. We were visiting from our of town and had to leave Saturday evening so this was a huge help to us! We really appreciated the care offered by these two staff members and next time we are in Ottawa, we know where to eat!!!
We should have checked these reviews before we ordered tonight the 18th of May, 2022. We ordered 3 quarter chicken meals and you get 2 sides. We chose Fries. The order came to the house through Uber. $72 with tax and tip. Opened each box. Chicken and bread roll. 2 Cole slaw, one green beans, NO FRIES. We called multiple times to the Innes Road Orleans location. NO ANSWER. Then we got transferred to a main line for Swiss Chalet. Nice person but said: Sorry, I tried 5 times to contact the Orleans location. No answer. So take it up with them or Uber. It's got nothing to do with Uber. Uber was fast. Swiss Chalet doesn't care ! For that poor service, they get this bad review? Doesn't make business sense???
I went today with my son. The restaurant was literally empty. It took 20 minutes to be greeted and seated. Once seated , another 25 minutes before the waitress asked for my order and came to the table. Another 30 minutes before my food arrived which was completely cold and thrown together. I regret going here and this experience was pathetic to say the least. I’m not a person that leaves reviews or complains, but this is completely unacceptable !!
Although my experience at this location was a positive one as my waitress was friendly and efficient, plus this location actually had beer in bottles and not in cans unlike another location I reviewed. I find the overall Swiss Chalet experience to be mediocre at best. I can get just as good (and in the case of the ribs) better roast chicken and ribs at any grocery store.
The food was not fresh and not good. We had ordered a brownie for our son and we received the pudding, it was so gross, my son wouldn’t eat it and he loves chocolate. Also, the coleslaw we received was spoiled. Yukkk never again.
Had take out Haddock fish and chips. Extremely greasy and salty. Like eating a block of salt. Fries were so greasy that they were leaking grease. Horrible meal. Shame on you for serving such horrible food.
I had the fish & chips. Fish was very overcooked; the batter was hard, not fluffy and crisp like I expected. It had been sitting there a long time. I don't recommend it at all.Swiss Chalet is definitely a chicken place.

Won't return. We got ripped off last time eating here. They charged us for 3 meals instead of 2. When confronting the waitress, she said it just rings in that way. Be careful and check your bill.
