I have heard nothing but good things about this place.Was looking for somewhere to eat, and gave it a try.I ordered the East Coast Donair with an heirloom salad. It was fantastic.Partner ordered the fish and chips. Not so much. Greasy with soggy fries.I would go back as there were things on the menu that I would like to try.Just won't be ordering the fish.
Heard great things about this place so we were looking forward to trying it out. Great ambiance when you walk in, place is very big. Staff is nice but service is extremely slow. Waited about 10-15 before the waitress came to see us after being seated. Ordered cauliflower wings and calamari to start. Cauliflower wings were good, calamari was soggy and flavourless. You could tell it’s out the freezer. For our mains we had a BLT with fries, blueberry Brie burger and the mushroom Gruyère burger. Burgers and BLT were very dry and the homemade ketchup is very sweet, not a great addition. The fries were cold and looked stale. Felt they were left out too long and then fried again. Not good at all. Overall this place was a total disappointment, wouldn’t recommend.
I’ve been here a few times since they opened the Innes location. I must say, the food has never disappointed; always fresh tasting and delicious. What’s not calling me back is the atmosphere. First, I’m always freezing there no matter the season. Tonight, 2C outside (seasonal), saw a few patrons wearing their winter coats over their shoulders. Been there in the summer, wished I had that coat. It seams the two huge fans installed from the previous Japanese restaurant really creates a draft. Unless you get a booth, tables are all in an open space and kind of close to one another. Could be unpleasant if sitting by either loud speaking or a smelly smoker. My advice, bring an extra sweater, ask for a booth and enjoy wonderful food. Fish tacos and Cobb salad are my favourites but everything on the menu is excellent, even better with a pint of beaus.
The food was actually quite good featuring upscale burgers and tacos for lunch. However, I thought that the restaurant felt like a fast food restaurant; the section we were in was drafty and had the layout of a Harvey's. Even though Ontario no longer requires masking, I appreciated that the restaurant website states that one had to be masked to enter the restaurant. Unfortunately, our server was not masked (some servers were). Given current COVID infection rates in Ottawa, I feel that ALL servers in restaurants should be masked.
Fantastic meal!Had a candied bacon cheeseburger that was absolutely delicious (AAA chuck made a massive difference!). My friend had the crispy chicken sandwich that was equally delicious. Great fries and a great beer rounded it out.Very reasonable prices and very friendly service.Highly recommend.
Very impressed with the level of customer service at Occo. They put the customer first, no questions asked. The cherry on top is that their food is very delicious and the portion sizes are perfect. If you haven't ordered from them yet, you're missing out.
Great food,as always, but just as important the staff were amazing. We went during a busy time and our waitress did not miss a beat, friendly and always available when we need something. Highly recommend Occo as a full dining experience or as a great place to have drinks with friends.

Waited a long time to try Occo's having lived in Nfld and missed the food and culture. Was extremely disappointed tonight. Ordered the fish and chips with dressing and gravy on the side. The fish batter is dark brown and black, completely burnt. And no dressing and gravy on side. Its not like we can just go down the ride to return. We live 25 minutes away. Very very disappointed!!!!?
The burgers with candied bacon are outstanding. The chowder pot was packed with seafood. The fish cakes are delicious. The space is very open and modern. Not so much a romantic venue but a great social one with delicious food. A definite few notches above standard family restaurants.
