Absolute bad experience with this restaurant. Was there on time to pick up, but had to wait 10 minutes to get my order, and there’s only 1 table with people. Then they forgot the salad, had to go back, wait another 10 minutes for it. Later I found out they charged $2 more than price on their website. Ok, the worst is they put the fisherman’s stew at the bottom of a PAPER bag in a non-sealed container, and it spilled and destroyed the paper bag. The soup was spilled on passenger seat, and I didn’t know. So when I got home and lifted the bag, it broke above my thigh, spilled everywhere. Called them, they admitted they should use plastic bag, told me to have manager call me. Manager called, told me owner would call me, then nothing happened thereafter. Could not took photos between gaps and on my shorts. My car will smell fishy for a couple of weeks at least.
Fish tacos were tasty and fresh. They are served with sour cream and salsa. Fish Portions are not huge but they were spiced nicely! Love that they had avocado on them :)Find more reviews Instagram @linreviews !!!!!!
Came here for lunch and was very glad we decided to drive out to Oakville. Food was delightful. We ordered the jerk calamari and of course the lobster roll. Did not disappoint. I really loved how they paired the calamari with fried banana peppers. I wish the lobster meat were chunkier but all in all a lovely experience. Service was great!
Very good food and friendly staff. My kids love the food including a starter of a dozen oysters.
Last year i wrote a rave review for their taste of Oakville. this year my husband I decided to order again for our anniversary and BLEH! last year our dinners had separate containers for appitizers, salad and desert. This year all in one go figure it our. My husband ordered the fish pasta and like it. Lots of big pieces of shrimp, fish. calamari and lots of pasta. I order the rainbow trout. under cooked green beans, ick potatoes. A lot of money for BLEH! my recommendation go to the grocery store buy a box of frozen fish and chips, a frozen cheese cake, and a bag of salad, then top it off with a high quality bottle of wine. Over priced and they were 15 minutes late with our order phoned in 2 hours in advnce.
My post was from summer, but no matter the date it’s always worth to support our amazing Oakville. Sophia and I were spoiled with a Prosecco and ice tea while waiting for her fish and chips at Mermaid. I can't recommend this place enough, so delicious with such beautiful people. If you are in Oakville make sure to visit them, they always make you feel like family …and the oysters? Ummm…
Driven by here many times but never really noticed it. Decided to get takeout and I was glad I did. Ordered the Fishermen Stew which was packed with flavour and the portion was enough for two people. It was my favorite. Also got the Tuna Poke and Seared Tuna Slaw, both were fresh and favourable. Another solid order. I wasn't too keen on the crab cakes, a tad bland in my opinion.Can't wait to go back and try the oysters!
I have been looking forward to giving the Mermaid a try and let me tell you it was worth the wait. I grabbed dinner for my wife’s birthday as resultants are closed to indoor dining (Covid)The food was amazing. Fresh, delicious great portion size. My wife is in love and can’t wait to go back. Great place you have to try !!!!
Randomly found this place. Small but super cute inside. Great service!! Most importantly delicious lobster roll! This place did not disappoint! Must try in Oakville :)
The food was amazing and our server, Danielle, was so kind and attentive all night. Oysters and cocktails were delicious. We went for happy hour and it was an amazing deal
