If you want to try a unique and delicious cuisine that you probably have never heard about before, look no further than Orda Restaurant, which specializes in Uyghur cuisine. This blend of Chinese and Turkic flavors made for a wonderful culinary experience in Oakville by Lakeshore. We opted to dine in but there was a large patio set up for the summer. The table came with warm bagel pieces and butter, which was a nice touch, while we were deciding what to order from the digital menu. We tried the lamb kebobs as an appetizer and were delighted at the succulent and well seasoned fall-off-the-skewer meat. We would have ordered more but had to save room for the braised beef short ribs and hand pulled noodles that came with the Zeera Lahman dish. Portion sizes were enough for a family of 4 but we were quite happy to take home the delicious leftovers. Our server Nigara was phenomenal, helping us with the menu options and even providing us with a complimentary jug of yogurt drink (similar to an Indian sweet lassi) after apologizing for the kitchen being backed up. A special shout out to Richard as well who took care of us during dinner.

O M GBest bbq ever! And the home made yogurt soooooo good!

Some Uyghur clients of mine in Waterloo highly recommended this restaurant, so one Saturday evening we drove from Kitchener to try it out. When we arrived, we were asked if we had a reservation. We didn't, but although the dining room was pretty well completely full, they made an effort to squeeze in another little table for two for us. After having made an hour-long trip just to go there, this was something we greatly appreciated! Our server recommended that we try some lamb kebabs and steamed dumplings, so we ordered those. We must confess that lamb is our least favourite meat, but the lamb on these kebabs was the tenderest and most flavourful we've ever had! We could have had a whole meal of just those kebabs and been more than satisfied! Very highly recommended! The dumplings were also good, but not as good as those kebabs! For our main dish, we ordered a large Zeera Lahman to share. This dish features the traditional Uyghur hand-pulled noodles with stir-fried lamb & beef, onions, red and green chilies, and cumin. The amount of meat in the dish far outweighs anything we've had in other Uyghur restaurants. There's a large amount of red chilies that give the dish some heat, but not too much, especially if you don't actually eat them and take them out like we did. It's a wonderfully tasty blend of savoury and spice, and it's addictive! Even when we determined that we'd had enough, we kept grabbing just one more noodle to twirl around our fork and eat. And it's more than enough for 2 people. We ended up taking half of it home to enjoy again later. The prices are higher than we've experienced in other Uyghur restaurants, but you get what you pay for. Orda had more in terms of a nice atmosphere and in the quality and quantity of the food. The service was friendly and attentive. If you're looking for good ethnic food and a great dining experience, Orda is the place to go! We will definitely be going back again. It's more than worth the 2-hour round trip to get there!

Came here with my family, their short ribs with noodles, kebabs and the yogurt drink is to die for! Can’t wait to try all their other food! It’s absolutely so delightful and one of the best food restaurant in all of Toronto, the flavours and the interior of the restaurant is absolutely amazing and definitely an amazing experience with the staff being OVER and beyond helpful and caring! I will be coming back every week if I can!

Authentic Uighur food, their homemade yogurt & lamb kebab is really good

This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool but the staff is also really friendly. Food is delicious my favourite is the Polo and and Lamb Soup, you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority.

The staff are really nice, the place was empty though on a Friday evening. The service was OK, they brought out appetizers after entree, not impressed. The food was also OK, the manta was too greasy with chuncks of fat and lacked any flavor. The braised beef short ribs was the highlight, such an incredible dish. Rest was average.

GREAT NOODLES!Ordered three times here takeout. Haven't been let down once. We are vegetarian, and they were willing to prepare hand pulled noodles with egg, in the most delicious way.

Portions were generous. Nicely spiced. Unique dishes eg. Lamb stir fried in naan, tasty large dumplings, quick courteous service. Beautiful decor. Clean washrooms, hand sanitizer on the table, all servers were properly masked. Pleasure to discover a new Uyghur culture. Relaxing dining experience. Glad that it was halal, got to try everything :-).

We are located in Toronto and this restaurant is all the way in Oakville. Took us an hour drive to get there, but we knew they were worth it!It was a little too dark for photos when we were there, took a few but if you’re restaurant hunting for some unique places away from home, definitely try this!We had the lamb organ soup, lamb kebobs (they have the large and regular one. Don’t be surprised when the large lamb kebobs is served to your table!)Lamb polo - their rice is one of a kind. They have cranberries.. or was it raisins in their rice. Enjoyed it!Braised oxtail and chicken stew with noodles. We had a great night there.
