Called to make a reservation Friday evening August 12th with my wife for the patio and was told first come first served. No problem.....I said we have a small golden doodle and she will be sitting in the floor of the patio near us....The waitress that answered the phone said " do you have support dog papers. I politely answered and said no i don"t think so its my girl friends dog....but we have been on every patio in Oakville no issues. She said no papers you cannot sit on our patio!!!! the Ontario government allows dogs if leashed to sit on patios. I found her rude and indignant....she was not going to allow a dog to sit outside on the patio. I ended the call by saying you have lost a customer. She won the battle but lost the war. Shame on you Jacs.....I cant give a zero or I would.

Great service and great food. Cant believe I waited so long to come to this place. Had the seafood pasta, was a 10. My partner had the lamb on risotto and it was incredible.

Amazing food and excellent service!Celebrated our anniversary at J.A.C.’s Bistro tonight and were totally impressed! From the first phone call to paying the bill, the service was fantastic! Sybila took our reservation with an exuberant and friendly voice, and Christie, our server, was so friendly and attentive with a great sense of humour. ?The food was exceptional - compliments to the chefs!! We ordered appetizers to share - grilled calamari and Caesar salad (salad served on two separate plates - so thoughtful), gnocchi, and a steak entree. Everything was prepared and cooked to perfection and served steaming hot.The lemon meringue cheesecake was delicious, light, and refreshing. ?All of the food was plated with care and a flare for design that elevated the presentation to the next level! ?An interesting coincidence was that two other couples near us were celebrating their 37th and 48th wedding anniversaries! So, that shows that J.A.C’s is a destination for celebrations! We would definitely recommend J.A.C.‘s Bistro to anyone looking for premium food, nice ambiance, and quality service!

Went for our 1st after two years and asked to sit outside; sat down at a four sitter and was told to switch to a two seater (durning a time when there was no one on the patio and it wasn’t busy) I explained I wanted to sit in the furthest seat away from the other couple and was told that couldn’t happen. Correct customer service would have been to split the table apart and let us sit in the furthest place away due to comfortable level. We left, the server proceed to tell the other couple that happened. And customer service.

Food was great. Gnocchi was delicious. The server was very knowledgeable. Overall great experience. My Mom had the salmon, she said it was tasty!

Haven’t been to this restaurant for a while glad we did the food was delicious, the specials were so good we had the soup, goats cheese salad and scallops absolutely perfect!

Amazing food. Great service. Will definitely return

Great meal. Appetizers were fantastic and the mains cooked perfectly… good wine list and friendly service… can’t ask for more…

My girlfriend and we’re literally just here now for our one year anniversary. The food was pretty good, above adequate! My girlfriend and I felt that the calamari had been re-frozen and was very tough. The seafood pasta which was advertised of being with shrimp and lobster came with 3 shrimp and precisely 2 portions of lobster; one the size of my thumbnail and the other approximately 4mm x 7cm.These things were totally acceptable. That’s just how it is at some places.Herein lies the issue:The service throughout was decent. Pretty fast to be honest. At the end of the meal, when my gf gave a tip that was equal to 8% of the total bill - which I believed to be relatively fair compensation for the service received - the server went back to the bar and mocked and laughed at the tip she received. She and the bartender had a back-and-forth about how little the tip was, laughing about it. Our server at one point said, “7 percent,” and began to laugh. At another point she said to the bartender, “that other table had a great tip, not like the one that lady gave us.” She then came over and politely asked if we needed anything else, as if she was forgetful that we were at a table situated less than 10 feet from the bar/cash out, where they were laughing and mocking the tip, in a restaurant that had literally two other occupied tables other than us. My gf works extremely hard for her money and was taking me out for a special dinner that was completely on her and it was very special and thoughtful. It was difficult to end the night having the serving staff laugh about how much she had tipped them. The past 3 restaraunts she and I have been to are Cucci’s, Chop and The Keg. All restaurants have difficulty reaching the impossible “perfect service”standard, but we instantly realized through this experience why certain restaurants grow and last, and others unfortunately do not.We personally won’t be coming back here and would not recommend it if asked.Written Wednesday, April 27/22 @ 10:11pm
