Good food, salad was delicious but over priced, hostess could have been more friendly and inviting. My wife and I along with our four young kids, walked in for a quick meal with no reservation and the place was empty, with a scowl on her face, the hostess “squeezed” us in to the empty restaurant as though we had inconvenienced her to some degree. Good restaurant but replace your hostess!

Food was ok, staff were great, our server was interactive and fun, the dish I had inpartiular was only 3 small tiger shrimp, litterly 4 small bay scallops and 6 muscles , I'm being honest, for that price? I'd expect a better mix , it tasted good amd I just didn't feel like complaining as it was a party fried calimari was pretty good and was well cooked and not bad portion,

Delicious food ! Many vegan options ! Nice service and staff. The place needs to be updated. It's old and looks more like a cafeteria with a pizza oven than an Italian restaurant, almost none decoration. Missing the cozy effect !

Gluten free? Come on in! Invited for dinner to Il Fornello and trying to be gluten-free presented a dilemma. Was it to be a dinner without food at a place that served pizza and pasta. I had not been to an Italian restaurant since I was put on a gluten free diet. But surprise! The superhelpful masked (still the pandemic, remember?) waitress, when asked a stupid question "Is there anything here that is gluten-free?" did not bat her long eyelashes. Not only could any pizza be made on a gluten free crust but many of the pasta dishes could be made with a gluten-free dough. The pasta with gorgonzola cream sauce with chicken was delicious and proved to me that a gluten-proof life was, once again, worth living. Also nice was the owner(?) who came around to see how everything was. Who does that anymore?

Excellent service and food. John greeted me as I walked in and made great small talk between attending to his tables as I waited for my takeout order. The chefs were working well together and had great communication, which I believe is why my food came out wonderfully and without mistakes (especially because there was an allergy-alert note on the order). Overall, the food was fantastic, especially the wood-fired pizza. The taste was fresh, not greasy, and the crust alone was delicious. Highly recommend visiting and trying some dishes!

I’d give 5 stars if my husband’s meal wasn’t salty. He ordered penne a la vodka. My nhoque and my kids penne pesto were delicious.

Went there to celebrate a friend’s birthday…the food was delicious..wood fire pizza and gnocchi was the highlight of our meal. Very calm and soothing ambiance and music! Deserts were a little disappointing…ordered the chocolate cake and a cheesecake…both felt average…definitely going back for the food, but will not be ordering deserts next time!

The best Italian spot in Oakville!I have been multiple times and tried a variety of the menu. All the food that I have had is terrific! The service is always top notch. My only gripe is that the water cups are tiny and need refilling multiple times per meal but the server is always on top of it

3 of the 4 deals we average to good. However, adding Salmon to a Salad was a mistake. Both my Salad and salmon portions were small. I ordered a small salad and it really was small - much more than small salads at other restaurants. The salmon portion was extremely overcooked and very dry. The good news is that our server was excellent and our dinner with close friends was enjoyable.

Really great food and friendly staff. Was really happy to see they had GF and DF pizza! I can’t remember the last time I was able to eat pizza due to my dietary restrictions. Needless to say it was delicious. The shrimp appetizer were also tasty and I loved the tomato sauce it had on the side - really complemented it well. A great spot to go to in Oakville.
