Wow has this restaurant gone downhill. We used to eat here all the time but last 2 times we ordered it was so bad that we are never going back. We ordered crispy ginger chicken and instead we got soft saggy burned chicken. It was awful and made me feel sick. The curry beef was terrible and tasteless. The staff were nice though. But the food needs some work but we're for sure not eating here ever again.

Have to agree with Franca‘s reviewSomething major has changed at this restaurantFood quality is not the sameFried dumplings used to have a lot of meat and very juicy. They are all dried up and hardly any meat.Prices have gone up and quality has gone down

This restaurant used to be amazing. Over the years, I've been more disappointed, and now it's finally over for me. I don't know if the chefs have changed, but the food is very different. The dishes are lacking compared to just a year ago. The food is now very oily with much less flavor. The heat levels are different. The total size of some of the dishes seem to be smaller over the years, and, now, the size of the pieces themselves are smaller, as if the meat was trimmed from the ends of a cut before they were battered and fried, which was very obvious on some beef dishes. There are so many other restaurants that I haven't tried, and now I think I will try some.

Was driving by and hungry so we stopped. While the decor is nothing special the place was packed. We shared a few items and were not disappointed. Portions were generous, very flavourful and piping hot. Will definitely be back

do not buy from Szechuan Gourmet.we have ordered from Szechuan Gourmet for over 15 years. it used to be good.this week we ordered 2 spicy peanut chicken and I do not believe it was quality chicken. to tell you the truth I dont believe it was even real chicken. or perhaps they are using low quality or scrap chicken. frankly it was disgusting.they just raised prices so perhaps they also cut the quality of the chicken they buy. it was soft kinda weird. if you told be it was spam i wouldn't be surprised. i could go on but what for; you get the picture.we called the owner who did not listen and hung up the phone.i feel they stole from us. this is not the food or treatment you expect for your money. we have eaten their food over 100 times over 15 years.shame on them.mad and sad

One of our family’s go to restaurants for dine in and take out. Been a customer here for years! Food is always amazing and Cecilia and her team are wonderful!

One of my families favourite comfort spots. Staff are pleasant and friendly. Today, my daughter wanted noodles but wanted soft noodles. We ordered chow mein and when it arrived , we realized it was the wrong noodles. The waitress explained the difference between lo mein and chow mein. Our mistake, but a good one, because, I found out today I like chow mein - fried noodles.

I've been ordering here for the last 5-6 years, but never again. The woman that runs the place has never been friendly except during Covid-19 restrictions. Well the restaurant is open for dining and she's back to being miserable. I order about 25-30 times/yr at an average of $70 per. Yesterday On pick up I asked for a couple of pks of dry noodles, (you don’t ask you don’t get just like the fortune cookies and some condiments), I was told that I'd have to pay for one. I had 2 soups but she insisted I had to pay for one. I refused and asked if she was willing to lose a costumer over a pack of noodles. I left without paying or the order. She followed me and as I was walking to my car she shouted "you a**hole". I put up with unfriendliness for years, but I will not put up with rudeness and vulgarity. I only regret not apologizing to the patrons enjoying their dinner. My apologies to them and I hope she didn't carry on to long after I left.

Christmas Eve and the restaurant was full . Probably because little else is open on Christmas Eve. We ordered eight different dishes. The soup, which we had started with , was served with the standard three won tons per serving. The broth , just having made the grade as it was a notch above having been tasteless. The spring rolls were also once level above a failing grade . Again, taste was a big factor . As for the Szechuan spicy beef, this was definitely different as it was served very shredded and even though it was advertised as being spicy, the mix of soft tender meat and spice was just right . Everything else , was your average run of the mill.
