The prices have hiked and the quantity of the food we use to get has decreased alarmingly after this place has a new owner. Before the carrabian women use to serve she was super nice,joyful and generous. I used to love going there but now the servers are very very rude and they are just sitting their to make as much as profit possible they dont care about customer relations or if the customers are satisfied with the services or not. Never going back their again in my life.
Was coming here nearly every day to get a patty with homemade coco bread. The younger woman who normally works the cash when I go was really great and the patty with coco bun was really good.A few weeks back they stopped serving the coco bun. First they were just getting random ones that they didn't make, then they stopped serving them altogether. It's still on the menu so I assumed this was a temporary setback with shortages or something, so I was still asking if they had it when I went in.The girl I normally get just politely explained that they didn't. One older woman who was working the cash twice when I went in, the first time looked at me like I was an idiot for asking and had no idea what I was talking about. (It's on the menu?)The second time I went in with the older woman working the cash, she rudely insisted they don't have it and will never have it. Again, it's on the menu. Her tone was aggressive.Would 1 star for the rude lady, but the nice younger woman who normally works there bumps it up. Nothing else on the menu was worth it for the price in my opinion.
My past visits were excellent, but this last time the food was so salt that I could not enjoy it. Four other people that had the Jerk Chicken were also shocked at the salt taste. Not sure if I will give them another chance. The other good Jerk chicken places are in Scarborough.
I ordered the jerk chicken large size and this restaurant is the best place I've had for jerk chicken. It has great flavours, the chicken falls off the bone, and it has great portions too.
I went for boneless curry chicken large as that's the only size they were offering. I was disgusted with the amount they were serving for the price. I have ate here in the past and they gave a decent amount but apparently that has changed. They were charging $13.26 for a large before tax. As they lady was preparing my order she was weighting it to make sure they weren't over serving (which I can understand to a point). Just as they were done weighting it and adding the rice I noticed there was like no meat. You are getting a small portion at best for the large price. I will not be returning.
We recently placed an order (through Skip the Dishes) and the order was to consist of 20oz of boneless chicken curry and we received curry goat all bones and barely enough for 1 person. This was a $25 meal that was to be shared. The substitute was ridiculous. As well the order was also to include 10 pieces of jerk chicken and we only received 5 pieces. Lastly we ordered 2 beef patties and received 2 drinks instead. The order was placed to feed 8 people and the food delivered was barely enough to feed half of us. Tried to contact someone to get a resolution and completely dismissive. Lastly, the food was horrible.
The spicy gravy is unreal. Rice is fresh. Best coleslaw I've ever had- super creamy and offsets the spice really well. Hot sauce a nice addition of you want to take it up a knotch. I ask for potatoes as an addition, which are perfectly cooked and super tasty. And guess what....open until 3am?! Just take all my money.
Ordered ahead of time, something I recommend to everyone nowadays.Oh man, does this take me back to the nostalgic days! The chicken was cooked to perfection, oozing out juices. The sauce that coated the rice was super flavorful. Very, very filling, and I only got the small version!Can't go wrong here. If you want some good jerk chicken, this place will not disappoint.
Medium meal with tiny chicken, don’t make me wrong. They have bunch of those but they always picked tiny ones. The stuff picked the normal size and change to the tiny one.
The curry goat is very delicious however, I was at the store on Wednesday, December 22 at about 9:30pm to buy some food after a long day of work. I was disappointed that I paid $18 for rice & peas, gravy and BONES! There was hardly any meat in my order and the few pieces of meat were the rubbery part of the goat that you cannot chew on. I found this very upsetting and considering the young lady that served me weighted the goat meat that she sold me and it was ALL BONES. I cannot tell you how hungry I was and then disappointed to learn that I only bought rice and bones - VERY, VERY UPSETTING!!! Again, the food was very tasty but was unable to enjoy it. Also, this was my first time at Jerk King, not the best first impression and would like a refund or a proper meal for the $18 that I paid.
