Meh. Soda was flat, beef dip was as dry as a cracker and that’s the beef we’re talking about. The fish and chips batter was mediocre.Kids pasta was a huge portion so that was goodService was alrightProbably won’t eat here again
This review is long overdue but for some reason I felt bad leaving a bad review. My best friend and I used to come here regularly during the day, sit at the bar, try various whiskey and eat lunch. The man at the bar was always so nice and knowledgeable. My last visit was with my wife and sat a booth. The bartender recognized me and said hi.I ordered a burger from the server. I took my first bite to see if it was cooked through as anyone would know if beef is ground, it must be cooked throughly at at an internal temperature of 165 Fahrenheit. It was cooked through. As I kept eating though, the other part of the burger was red inside. Not sure if the patty was on the edge of the grill but whatever the cause, I stopped eating it but I could not be sure how much of the red ground beef I already ate. When the server came by to see if we were done, I showed her the undercooked red ground beef. She didn’t say anything in reply. I had eaten most of the burger before I realized there was an undercooked area of the burger patty.4 days later I got extremely sick (gastrointestinal issues) and it lasted for 13 days.I then called the restaurant and spoke to a woman who was the manager. She told me it is impossible to get sick from undercooked ground beef! Unbelievable that a manager at a restaurant does not know you can get food poisoning from undercooked ground meat. Then she said no one else complained of undercooked burger that day! Again it doesn’t mean every burger that day was undercooked. I was shocked by her lack of knowledge of basic food preparation and customer service. This occurred just before the pandemic started. We used to spend hundreds of dollars here drinking whiskeys and eating there regularly. I never had an issue before this but this was the first time ordering a burger at this location. Because of the manager’s words, we have never returned to this location or other Fox and Fiddle location for that matter.
This place is getting way overpriced for what you get. The last three times we orders take out they forgot to add extras we paid for and didn’t put together as we requested. The wings are getting way overpriced and a side of guacamole for $2.50 is crazy considering it’s about one tablespoon in a little plastic cup. We have gone there almost every week for years and now order takeout every other week, but it will have to stop if this keeps up.
Usually the food is amazing but this once we got served chicken pasta when we asked for vegetarian one. And the cauliflower starter tasted a bit off. The square pizza thingy we ordered also tasted a bit stale.Drinks were amazing
First time here, it wasn’t busy. Service was great and we got the half price Monday Wing special which was perfectly done.
Went here on NYE. The first thing we noticed upon stepping in was a strong nauseating stench, somewhere between smelly feet and moldy carpet. We almost left but the place next door was full so we decided to give it a chance. The décor is really dated and can use an upgrade. Music was good but too loud, I could barely hear my friend. The place gives off 90s small town diner vibes. Food and drinks were ok. Staff was really attentive. Washroom was clean. Knocked off two stars for the depressing interior and repugnant smell. I don't understand how can the staff not notice and address the bad odor. You get used to it inside but it comes and goes in whiffs.
It was my second experience there, the first one was amazing, the food, the service everything. But the second time was not that good, the food tasted kinda weird, the waitress made a mistake and brought us a wrong food.Hope that it gets better soon.
Really good food and service. Clean establishment. Cheap drinks!
I've been to this location many times but my most recent was disappointing (at minumum). First, the entire restaurant smelled like a portapotty. Second, we were seated in the bar under speakers blaring music to start, and then near televisions screaming the basketball game. The booths along the wall in the bar are close to the bathrooms (which stink, but are clean). We could have easily been seated in the restaurant portion -- perhaps those doing the seating could ask if people want to be able to hear each other, after not being able to get together for 2 years, and then seat them where they can have a conversation and not have to shout over other guests and speakers turned way up. Thirdly, when seated in the bar, we were served by the bartender (not a dedicated server). So we waited a long time for her to come see us and to come back to us for the bill etc. Not to mention, she was wearing a clear plastic face guard, not a mask. This does nothing to protect her or the guests. Finally, the food on this round was not great. We had the Mac and cheese balls to start; my friend bit into one and it was literally frozen on the inside. They made it right by bringing us out new ones. For my meal, I had the butter chicken flat bread (I've had it before), and I don't know if it wasn't cooked right, or if there was some cleanliness issue in the kitchen, but I have been sick since I left the restaurant. I will say that the F&F is a great atmosphere for after-work drinks, and that their servers are nice, and the menu is good... just the execution of the menu in the actual kitchen that needs some work.
I ordered calamari as a starter. It wasn't great specially the sauce comes with it wasn't really good. As a main course i ordered steak medium rare . steak was good vegetable beside of steak was cold. Still half of calamari finished but main course came on the table?.I will go again .
