For my first time trying this place, I was less than impressed with their chili chicken. While I understand that I ordered the dry version (as I usually prefer), the lack of any sort of flavoring beyond what tasted to me like plain fried chicken is unacceptable. Without the few pieces of onion and half dozen pieces of green chili I could have sworn I was eating boneless chicken bites. Usually when one orders chili chicken dry, it's tossed in some sort of sauce and the pieces absorb it. Unfortunately Encore either didn't add enough sauce or they left it out entirely. The mixed vegetables with tofu at least had some flavor. The 4-star rating was quite misleading this time.
HANDS DOWN THE BEST HAKKA PLACE IVE BEEN TO. I have tried so many things off their menu that I have come to the conclusion that you can have anything and not be disappointed. The prices are fabulous too. My family's favourite thing to get is the Szechuan vegetarian noodles. The portions are so big that it's easily shared by two people with big appetites. I love this place and I hope they stay around for many years. Their service and staff is genuinely another thing that makes me enjoy coming here. Also, whoever, bashed their door window, I hope they are found.
One of my favourite Hakka places! They are generous with the complimentary rice and the meal always comes with a generous portion of their delicious chilli sauce. The flavours are delicious and the food is not greasy.
I got the chili chicken with steamed rice. Was fresh, tasty and good amount of chicken. One of the best hakka I've ever tried. Highly recommend this place!
This is a bit out of the way for me, but well worth the trip. Chicken was fresh and crispy, but at the same time tender. could have used a tiny smidge more sauce to coat the pieces, although I did order dry. Noodles were of the higher quality variety (most fast food Chinese/Hakka places use low a quality noodle with a rubbery texture and little flavour) and were a nice upgrade over plain steam rice. Portions are excellent, will be back to try more menu items!
Very nice, friendly and simple family-owned Hakka restaurant. Food is always reliable, very reasonably priced and with good portions. They try their best to take care of you. Definitely recommended.
So I've only had it once but the ginger crispy beef is so good. Also their hot sauce (which sadly comes in a very small container) is soo good! I think its their own recipe, I definitely need to try more things like the chili chicken as people seem to rave about it.
Very unprofessional and rude behaviour! Worst customer service! Also food tastes awful! The lady there just like throw the food on your table! I’ve never seen something like this at any other restaurant. I was very surprised. It seemed like the lady was doing us a favour by serving the food with a very dirty attitude. For sure will never ever visit this restaurant again in my life. They badly need to work on their customer service and how to treat the customers! I don’t recommend this place at all!
Went there with my girlfriend and a priest friend. The food was delicious, the portions HUGE, and the service very friendly! We had the Hot n Sour (Chicken soup), the medium could've fed 5. The House Fried Rice and Hakka Noodles were delicious, and the chicken Manchurian was yummy, and chicken lollipops hit the spot! Check it out, y'all!
Manchurian chicken, never found a place which does this so perfect. Thank you!!!!
