Got pork belly with skin & pork shoulder butt at this Korean BBQ place. The meats were decent. The decor is cute, like you're sitting at a Korean night market.
Pork Kimchi stew was decent. It was sour & spicy (I don't like kimchi). It was also pretty sweet: more sweet than other kimchi stews. It was generous with ingredients.
There were 5 banchan plus corn & kimchi in the hot plate. So effectively there were 7. There was egg & garlic too; the egg after a while became like steamed egg
Complimentary soy bean soup was good: mainly salty notes with some spicy ones. It was like spicy miso. The rice served here was not white but red rice.
Amazing first time experience at this location. Peter and Bi had excellent service. We were greeted without delay and made sure we were taken care of. Outside dining is really comfortable.The food is super flavourful and fresh. We didn't have to wait long at all. They even helped us cook the food✌️.Will be back again ?
Amazing authentic tasting Korean bbq restaurant. We usually go to all you can eat kbbq places but wanted to try something different and are glad that we did.Daldongnae has a great selection of primary pork and beef cuts of meat we got pork belly, pork skirt, beef boneless short ribs and beef rib finger. All the meat was very flavourful and well marinaded. There were only four of us and we over ordered by also getting the seafood pancake and spicy cold noodles both were also great tasting.The service was very friendly and attentive, our table was always checked every so often to see if we needed any refills of side dishes.This restaurant has one of the best ventilation systems we've been to. We didn't leave smelling like smoke which is common for other kbbq places.
Like the vibe, it’s a nice diner a little crowded. But very clean and I’m so impressed since it’s BBQ. Food was tasty and fun to eat. Will definitely come again.Only down point was the server who helped us was a little inpatient, as we never ask for anything rather than order and bills.
Right off rip I loved the atmosphere of Daldongnae! The Korean street aesthetic paired with the hustle and bustle of the restaurant really made for a great dining experience. We sat in what what I’d consider to be half indoor and half outdoor seating, which was perfect!Let me just say now that this place offers the BEST Banchan (vegetable sides) I’ve ever had. Not only do they provide a wide variety of items including warm items (cheese corn, kimchi, egg, fried garlic) and cold items (chilli cucumber, pickled onion, mashed potato, lettuce, & more), but it’s unlimited!We ordered Pork Belly w/ Skin, Pork Belly, Boneless Beef Short Rib, Beef Hanging Tender, Steamed Rice, and Apple Soju (of course). Literally everything tasted amazing!! From the banchan to the fresh cuts, it was mouthwatering-good!One thing I‘ll say is that I really would have liked to order some Marinated Kalbi (bone-in short rib), but it wasn’t on their menu.Because our table was literally PACKED with food and it was mainly due to the banchan, I feel like they could really use much bigger tables.. it was almost painful small.In terms of service, I think this is where Daldongnae drops the ball a bit. Personally, I felt like the service was really slow. Although the food was super quick to come out, as it should be since it’s fresh, the server took forever to come to our table at all times. If it wasn’t for my friend who called her in Korean, I’m sure we would have experienced even slower service. Although she was really kind, our sever did not bring us side plates, and rarely checked on us.However, thus far, Daldongnae is the one of the best KBBQ spots I’ve personally been to!Definitely worth a visit ??
Everything about this spot is perfect - the atmosphere, food and service. It does get VERY busy here (make a reso if you can). The individual booth and setup here is one of a kind and the freshness and flavouring of the food is worth every $. The food also comes at a very good speed (you're not left waiting login before the appetizers come out also). Would highly recommend this spot for some samgyupsal especially.
When you’ve been wanting to go to daldongnae and haven’t yet, you gotta get there now!That was totally my situation and I’m officially satisfied beyond belief!The meat was flavourful and juicy. The side dishes were so amazing! Especially the sweet potato and the seaweed with a red type of sauce, possibly gochujang.When the meat comes, do t be deceived by the portion sizes. We thought we would be done in a second, but we totally got full and then some!The interior is so well thought out with the rustic old school type of appliances and home goods laid around the wall with a nice little feeling of walking through stalls with lots of rustic signage all over! Loved the vibe!Service was on point and they were all very attentive and we did kinda bother them a lot of asking for things, forgetting something amd asking for more and no complaints!
