How to quickly lose a customer.I ordered my two sandwiches over the phone with a young lady and requested a spicy veal sandwich and a mini steak sandwich in medium. When I arrived at this location, there were these two teenagers who are fantastic liars at the front counter. They have no business being there because they are not properly trained on how to speak to grown adults. They are trying to convince me that they don't have a mini steak sandwich. How is it on the menu then? Then this lady in the kitchen window starts shouting that they are out of mini buns and I was forced to take a full sandwich. Furthermore, the lady avoided eye contact with me majority of the time, instead conversing with the teenagers behind the counter, and as I was paying, she casually stated " Well, they can get some pop from the fridge if they want" This was by far the most classless and egregious behaviour I've ever witnessed, and I've always received excellent customer service from this location, so it's a shame.
Amazing location for sandwiches. Sandwiches are big and fries is done the old school way.I did delivery lots of times and take outs. The impressive thing on the delivery is the time and accuracy of the order.Inside is clean and friendly.
Got veal sandwich w/ mushrooms. Nice big sandwich, I'd prefer slight more tomato sauce, the veal was a bit hard to tear with teeth. But overall great sandwich and my favourite. And they were super friendly ?
I would give this location more stars but it seems I’ve exceeded the limit. Love the sandwiches here, they’re made with love ❤️? the staff always make us feel like family and the sauce is the sauciest in the city ? This is our favourite California Sandwiches location by far. Really great tasting Italian style sandwiches. Great value, All side toppings and a large side of green spicy olives are a must. Much better than these expensive so called gourmet burger places. Highly recommended.
Unfortunate, bland and chewy veal sandwich. Payed a huge amount for the combo, didn't even care about finishing it. Onion rings were good though. Portion size is huge which would have been a good thing if the sandwich itself was enjoyable. Went to another place to buy food after already spending money on this, not sure if its a bad day or these reviews were given by people with no taste.
Got one veal and one steak sandwich. Way too much sauce, the bun was almost soaked in the sauce made the sandwich salty and soggy. The veal had batter so batter was also soggy and watery ?. Veal was chewy and bland, steak was less chewy but also bland. Not sure if I went on a bad day or the reviews are just fake ??♀️??♀️??♀️The sandwich also only had tomato sauce and the meat in there. No cheese or anything else. Not sure if that’s how it supposed to be but honestly the two sandwiches just both tasted gross ?.
Definitely a 5- star team, no doubt. The sandwich is gigantic, enough for two!Loved the crispy onion rings. The taste was close to a homemade meal
This is my first visit to this location of California Sandwiches. This is now one of many franchises in the city with the original still on Claremont. I have picked up veal from quite few of the locations and generally they are quite good. Unfortunately, not this location. The veal comes in a soggy bun with way too much tomato sauce. Unfortunately, no amount of sauce could cover the poor quality of the veal. It is tough, it is grizzly and the bread covering separates from the veal as you bite on it. It was not edible. We ended up throwing away most of the sandwich. Perhaps they have expanded way too fast resulting in poor quality.
Must eat food. I have friends who drive into the city just to come here and eat from this one restaurant. I'm sure the other locations are just as delicious. I myself have never been. This one is top-notch and it's close to my house. When I mean close like 25 minutes.
