Brown Donkatsu is hands down my favourite Katsu restaurant in the GTA. This particular location is a little smaller so their tables get filled up pretty quickly. So far I've tried the chicken, pork, shrimp and fish and they are all amazing. The breading is light, airy and crunchy (uniquely large shards) and pairs really well with the well balanced brown sauce. My only complaint is the miniature portion of rice that looks extra small beside the massive portion of meat.
The pork katsu was amazing, crispy but light, the portion was huge, they even let you pick the spicy level. I felt instant happiness when eating it, will come back again! Also service was friendly and efficient.
The food was pretty decent, nothing really special? The sauce however was pretty good, I did enjoy that. The katsu did leave an annoying aftertaste. Made my tongue feel like it had a layer of wax left on top. The ramen broth just tasted like Chinese noodle soup but slapped a bunch of random ingredients in it.
Wow the food was amazing especially the original brown katsu(the sauce is great) super crispy outside and tender inside!! I also had the Nagasaki jjambong which was good.I'm coming here again to try different dishes later.
I love Brown Donkatsu, they have confidence to open their new branch beside Katsuya.Anyway, the breaded katsu are definitely crispier than their neighbouring counterparts, but the carbonara sauce wasn't the greatest. I ordered a level 3, but was given a level 0. I got a small bowl with the sauce and when I tasted it, it was just the chemical hot sauce that I didn't really like. So I'm glad they made a mistake and I didn't have to go through the turmoil.Anyway, it was good.
I came here after a recommendation from a friend, and this place definitely does not disappoint. This is my first time having Katsu, and I ordered the Brown Teishoku. The portions are generous, and it was so delicious! On top of that, the service was outstanding. It's safe to say I will be back (and will be telling others to try this place out too!)
I ordered from Brown Donkatsu after seeing positive reviews on google through UberEats for the first time. I was enjoying the pork and chicken cutlet until I choked on a shrimp tail that was in my pork cutlet. Although I don’t have a shellfish allergy this could pose as a serious problem for someone who does. The food was good but this was a serious letdown.
Highly recommend!!Very very VERY delicious and crispy tonkatsu! We tried regular brown katsu with 0 level of spicy sauce and everything with chicken katsu dish. Both were very deliciousStaff were friendly and restaurant was clean.
I ordered takeout for two donkatsu orders today with the same sauce (same level of spiciness) and when my friend and I tried them, they tasted different. My sauce was much sweeter and spicer than hers even though we requested that they be the same. Moreover, I found a 3cm bone in my donkatsu. I think the preparation was done very poorly considering that donkatsu is always boneless. Overall, I had a very disappointing experience.
Excellent foods and service! Highly recommend!
