Literally still eating my shrimp bowl as I’m writing this! The BEST burrito I’ve ever had! Seriously so fresh and absolutely phenomenal! The pineapple salsa is incredible & the sauces ! ! Only complaint is i will be craving this place till I die and I’m not local :( come to Waterloo Frijoles!!!!
Quality definitely has gone downhill. Menu must be old as we only got 2 fish tacos for $11.99. Staff didn't know what Baja style fish taco were.
I have been going to the portage road location for years. The new one on Kalar was fantastic as it’s even closer. It started off great. But lately has just fallen off. Scoops of fillings are half what they used to be. Literally. I had to ask for more rice on my last 3 visits. Being a 2-3x a week customer for years, I know how it has been. Also had to ask for more beans. For corn - had to ask for more also. Literally half or quarter scoop fills. I know times are tough. So I tip every time and order lots ($45-50 each time. Plus tip. Multiple times a week). It’s just not worth it for a few burritos anymore at that price. It’s not the cheapest place to eat yet they have been cutting back more than anywhere else. Maybe it’s time to go back to the portage road location? Pretty disappointed.
I loved the food here! Better quality than other Mexical take out places.The only comment I would make, is that Frijoles serve their borito bowls in a styrofoam container... Paper is better for the environment, and better for the consumers health as well.If Frijoles switches to a paper product, I will happily give them a 5 star rating!
Had a beef burrito and was happy to see it wasn't ground beef but rather shredded beef. Honestly the burrito tasted fresh and had a fair amount of beef. I actually shared the burrito because it was huge! The girls there were friendly and I'd come back again for sure.
I use to eat here alot when they first opened and I loved it. I tried it again recently and it did not wow me the same way it use to. We ordered a taco bag (which was fine) and a vegetarian burrito which was really really bland. There were no fresh sautéed veggies like many other veggie burritos locally. Just unflavored beans and rice, even with a bunch of sauces I had to go back to the store and ask for sides of even more sauces just to have some sort of flavor besides cold bland rice. Maybe other meat options are good but would not recommend the vegetarian options.
Quality steak & shrimp burritos this trip. Available for take out only now, the ingredients are tastefully layered on producing the stuffed whole wheat personally assembled feast in a tortilla. Many great choices from proteins to a galaxy of sauces. Too bad seating is still closed. 14. Per folded delight yields fresh flavour your way. Could have more protein flavour for my liking. All ingredients were fresh & pure. Universally enjoyable!
Love this place! Awesome food and portions - the people are ALWAYS so nice! Makes the experience that much better.
The flavor was good, ordered a steak burrito. The amount of steak for the money was definitely not worth it, it was mostly filled with rice
Awesome fresh food. Great service. Fish burrito was amazing. Would definitely go again once I’m back in Niagara Falls.
