Decided to try somewhere different for breakfast and "The Buttery" came up in my search. I enjoyed the food. It was a good portion where I left feeling good and not overly full. The bacon was perfectly cooked, the eggs had a very nice flavor. Staff were friendly and the food was served quickly. I will be returning for sure.
Had an overnight at the Best Western and The Buttery was recommended.Very busy on a Sunday morning (10:00AM).Michael was very attentive and got our four orders on point.I had the spinach eggs benedict, with the hollandaise on the side. Food portions was quite large, would suggest sharing this dish and picking up something else on the side.My daughter had the salmon eggs benedict and could not finish the dish.Bottomless cup of coffee was extremely good, I had four!
Came here as I saw the local MP and the PM recently had lunch there. Did not disappoint. Excellent food and service, and excellent value.
We stumbled across this restaurant looking to grab breakfast in Newmarket. The environment is clean, well organized and you can tell it's a well run establishment. The staff are super friendly, attentive and fun!Actually the chef and one waitress have been cooking and serving great food for 34 years at The Buttery.I've traveled the world and enjoyed eggs benedict in many international regions. The dish I experienced today topped them all and the flavors and egg consistency were spot on!Our coffee was never empty and our server was extra generous. Thanks for a great experience, it was appreciated ❤️!
Absolutely delicious!. Service was amazing! Atmosphere was like walking into your grandparent home! Very warm and comforting. We will definitely be back! Hubby a fussy eater but he loved it so much and not one compliant. Not one I tell you!!! Lol. He ate everything!. Love this place!!!! New breakfast hot spot for us!!!!
I am not from the area, but was in town and needed a breakfast place. I took a chance on this place and it completely exceeded my expectations!! All of the staff were so kind and friendly. The food was amazing and the prices are great for the quality food and service. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but believe me, it is a hidden gem!! These quality home style restaurants are few and far between these days. I will definitely be back!! Thanks for the wonderful meal!!
This place has gone way downhill and is now very poor value for the cost. My husband and I went here for lunch today, intending to split. We ordered the Reuben (comes with coleslaw, no fries), an add on caesar and an order of fries + gravy. The Reuben: this is $16.50 so we expected it to be substantial. It was tiny, served on everyday rye sliced bread and was 1/4inch thick with nothing but a dash of horseradish. No Russian dressing. No pickle (except for two see through, thin sliced pickle rounds at the side of the plate). No melted swiss. None of the standard toppings that come on a reuben. This wasn’t a reuben at all. It was a plain, toasted pastrami sandwich. They also did not serve it with the coleslaw which is supposed to come with it.The Caesar: the size was ok for a side but the bacon bits nearly broke my teeth. The bacon bits are so incredibly hard, making the salad inedible due to the inherent danger of needing dental work after. The fries: They were standard and the gravy was good. They should have been included with the sandwich like every other restaurant does. Instead they were an additional $5.00.The bill came to $33 and change. They charged me $7.50 instead of $4.50 for the caesar. The owner argued with me that it is correct until I showed him the note underneath sandwiches showing the $4.50 to add it to your meal. I was taken aback by his argumentative attitude. He was very resistant to acknowledge something printed in black and white on his menu.I pointed out that they never served the side coleslaw and he said, ”it’s either or, fries or coleslaw, not both.” I said, “one is complimentary and one is paid for so, no, that’s not right. If the menu says that an item COMES WITH A DISH, you serve it.”I have never heard of a restaurant subtracting food from a dish just because you ordered other menu items. It’s just cheap and silly. After much back and forth he agreed to adjust the price and it came down to $25 and change. I appreciated that and I offered some constructive criticism: “If you are going to charge $16.50 for a sandwich, you need to serve something with it, like fries otherwise that is a terrible value for such a tiny sandwich.” He proceeded to argue back, “have you been to the grocery store lately?” I said, “ yes, and fries still have a huge margin for you.” Super fries, for a giant Costco sized bag are $4.99 at Costco which would have about 30 servings. Fries are DIRT CHEAP to buy.He was clearly angry at this point and shoved the receipt at me and said angrily and sarcastically, “have a nice day.” Terrible owner’s attitude, tiny portions, weird rules and unreasonable prices make this a ‘never again,’ for our family.
We found a gem and had a great birthday breakfast. The dishes are fresh, yummy and the service was wonderful. Thank you for making my bday morning that much more special.
This is THE breakfast place. The food was excellent and portion size was very filling (two 200 lbs+ guys were stuffed). Coffee is included in the price with several of the breakfast options. Best bang for your dollar. The restaurant is very comfortable and they survived covid! No longer serve Sunday Brunch Buffet or dinner, but definitely great quality breakfast and lunch. Best part of breakfast for me - my coffee cup was never empty!! Great service from a very nice family.
This family owned and operated restaurant is well positioned next to the Best Western hotel. Breakfast is served just the way you like it, with a morning smile, unlimited coffee and a variety of menu items to choose from. A relaxed atmosphere, friendly and efficient service and reasonable pricing make this place a good pick.
