OMG.... I'm not sure what to say!!! The halibut and fries is amazing, portion big and perfect!! Onion rings, slaw and in house made tartar??? Awesome!!! My son absolutely devours these fries!! I order through a delivery app, so my only gripe would be the packaging, as the plastic collects the condensation from the hot and fresh fish and chips and drops it back on the crispy fish making it soft by the time it gets to me and I think the cardboard packaging would be better to absorb the condensation to prevent this, but OMG.... that's maybe worth half a star, which I can't do, so 5 it is!!! Thank you!!! :) And my kitty LOVES playing with the paper the onion rings are wrapped in, so I get dinner and a show!!!
Well it was good Friday and like most fish houses, they are a mess. Why? Greed. Don't take orders you can't fulfill. I placed mine at noon for 6 pm pick up. Arrived 5:55 and left at 7:40. That's not a typo, almost 2 hrs and in the end, scrap pieces of Halibut. Sadly it was just horrible. They were telling Uber Eats drivers to just cancel their orders lol. Good to know.
Some of the best halibut and chips I've ever enjoyed with friendly staff and excellent service. Will be going back soon and would highly recommend when in Newmarket.
This was our first visit to this restaurant. We were warmly greeted upon arrival. As we were reviewing the menu posted on the wall, the staff member told us about the lunch specials. We ordered the haddock special and an order of scallops. Our order came quickly, hot and a very large serving. Great value for the price. Everything was cooked perfectly. The fish and scallops were finished in a light tasting batter and not greasy. The fries were cooked through and not greasy. The restaurant was clean. Although it is more of a fast food atmosphere, the staff checked on us, made sure we had all our condiments and were very appreciative of our thanks. We will visit again!! They were taking plenty of phone orders, nice to see others appreciate the good food too.
The haddock lunch special are very delicious and value for money. The fish batter is not thick, crispy outside and moist inside. The house cut potato fries are very good. I'll try the halibut and house salad next time. Looking forward to it.
This place has great fish and chips. I had the halibut dinner. It was huge. The batter was crispy and light. Didn't have that old oil taste. And the price is super - great value. The girl taking the order was friendly. I think I might want to try the fried chicken next time. I like that the pictures on the wall are actual pics of the food.
Very cozy place with deicious and crispy fish and chips! Staff are so friendly. One of the best fish and chips around the town.
Had the Haddock Chips & Salad. Everything was delicious, the batter was nice and light and not greasy and fried a perfect golden brown & the fish cooked perfectly. The restaurant is quite quaint and very clean.The staff are very kind, helpful and friendly. Will definitely order from there again!
Enjoyed the most excellent food here . Every item ordered was really good. Salads are perfect. Fish & Chips : The Best ! ......New Years Resolution , to visit monthly for healthy meals , & to relax in the nice atmosphere of the owners.?
Ordered take out from this place and the batter was still crispy when we got home. Staff were extremely friendly and courteous.
