I would put zero stars if I could.\\n\\nI used to be a regular here however lately they have managed to consistently get worse. My latest experience was today (august 2022).\\n\\nI walked in with my wife and stood behind the counter for over for 5 minutes while the older lady working behind the counter was on the phone.... Great, no problem I guess. We continued to wait and when she finally finished she took our order which came out to approximately $75.00.. we like to mix and match chicken and salad and potatoes instead of going for the rice etc and I prefer slices my wife prefers the half chicken so we finally get our order in and then the lady says \\\"to go right\\\".. My response was no (my wife was already sitting at the table)... she then says \\\"No, its not enough for you to eat in\\\"..... you have to order from the left side of the menu.... (but the combos are 18$ so I;m still confused how her math adds up)... anyways we left..\\n\\nIf that is their policy it might be wise to lead with \\\"Are you eating in or taking out? If you are eating in the menu is on the left\\\"\\n\\nSo disappointed. Will not be coming back.
First time visit, and a wonderful one at that. Food was hot, fresh and well presented. And oh so very tasty! Portions are very generous, quality is exceptional, and the sides all very flavorful! We will return! Treated myself to the flan, and it was a fantastic finish to the sit down meal!
My favorite Portuguese Chicken franchise. Their flavours are good and the staff is friendly. Very clean establishment.
We ordered 3 whole chickens with a side sauce and a small party size Parisian potatoes. I couldn’t order over the phone as no one would pick up after 5 tries. Mid afternoon order and the chicken was completely dry and was largely uneditable. I went to the Red Rooster website and sent an email to the posted address asking for my money back on the chicken portion of our $90 meal. No response in 2 days so I’m posting my review on Google. Definitely not a good experience overall unless you simply like potatoes.
Great tasting food! The chicken breast slices were phenomenal! The cod cakes were delicious! Staffed with very polite personnel! Very clean dining area and restrooms as well. We love this place! We drive past at least 6 Portuguese restaurants / bakeries in Bradford to come to the Red Rooster Restaurant in Newmarket!
Used to be a regular customer here, once or twice a week, but will no longer be. I ordered a family meal with a large side of pri pri sauce (clearly specified no hot sauce on the chicken so my toddler could eat) when I got home, I opened the bag and could smell the hot sauce. Opened the container and the chicken was covered in hot sauce. Pictures attached and you can see the sauce as well as a few chilli flakes.I called the restaurant to tell them what happened and the lady on the phone straight out called me a liar. I asked for a cell number to send the pictures. When I did she still argued and said I can Uber eats a second order. When I explained to her I will not be doing that as my original order was not fulfilled due to a restaurant error, they had the audacity to say the hot sauce brush was not used continuing to call me a liar and hung up on me.Will never return due to terrible customer service and lack of basic personable communication.
The only good thing about this place is the large portion size and the nice looking interior… the meat is so over cooked that when I was chewing on a piece of broken bone it took me a while to realize that.They also don’t allow two people to share a meal, and starter and dessert don’t count. The potatoes are good, but no salt or dipping sauce, and dipping sauce comes at extra cost.Everything feels like a fast food restaurant although the restaurant seems to situate themselves as a fine dining restaurant.
One of the best Portuguese places in York regionFood Is top notch, portions are generous and they rarely cease to please. 10+They're ??????? ?????? ????? ????? with the Parisienne potatoes and Portuguese rice topped with the house hot sauce is ?
Great Real Portuguese chicken with amazing sauce. Seems portions are getting slightly smaller hence why the 4 instead of 5 stars
If you place your order in advance for pick up you will be more then satisfied with the food here.. I love a place that puts effort in every part of the meal and doesn't skimp on the quality of the sides... great salad,potatoes, rice, and chicken... Quality as a whole... A little short staffed but worth the wait...
