I grew up in Scarborough and when it comes to Hakka Food, we had always gone to Frederick's for food. But it's quite a drive down there.I live in Newmarket in the last 5 years, and there's no Hakka place to go to.Until last October, RED DRAGON KITCHEN opened up and they did not disappoint. We ordered from this restaurant last night. Our family was tired of the same old Chinese restaurants in town so we tried Hakka. Everyone loved it, except for the lemon chicken which was very tough and dry. But all of the other dishes were great. Chili chicken and ginger beef were delicious. We'll definitely order again.
Food is fantastic, chilli chicken, house curry, and crispy ginger beef are my favourites. Staff is always welcoming. Best Hakka around this area., we are now regulars. Try it you won’t be disappointed. Ignore the worse ratings people.
We come here often and are NEVER disappointed. They are so consistent with their food and hospitality. Such a pleasant experience and very friendly staff. Their quality and flavour is like no other Hakka place. I highly recommend to anyone!
Probably ordered the wrong food. Soggy stuff on the Shrimp Szechuan, and Chicken and bamboo shoots and mushrooms you would need a magnifying glass to find the chicken, and swimming in gravy. Not Cheap for this quality!
As per usual my Hakka adventures consist of Pakura chicken, Bombay Chicken and Shanghai noodles and couldn't ask for more from a Hakka restaurant. Especially within a 20KM radius of Newmarket, Aurora and East Gwillimbury! Would come again! Also the owners are super nice!
This is my go to place for HAKKA. they have halal meat option.Before discovering this place i use to go all the way to Scarborough to Frederick's to get my food and by the time i would bring it home it would be so cold.After giving this place a try 3 months ago. I would say this is my pretty much go to place to go for Hakka every month.Owner is very hospitable, my past experience with Hakka places is when they are taking order over the phone they are always rushing and want us to spit out all the order in seconds. However i never felt rushed when calling to place my order.Besides hospitality and great customer service. The food taste's amazingChili Chicken (Boneless) is really goodPrawn cracker and hot and sour soup is one the best . dipping cracker in the soup and eating them is amazing. even their Pad Thai is goodI would definitely give this place a 5 star, food is amazing and tastes great.
We had a really good time at the restaurant, Great atmosphere and great food plus the amazing service. Francis was so nice and would check on us every now and then and the food was hot and fresh thanks to Paul and Simon in the kitchen. 10/10 would 100% recommend
Delicious food!! 5 star. Ordered the chili chicken, ginger beef, mixed rice and pakoras. Hot and very flavourful food. Super friendly owner and staff. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to try more items on the menu next time I’m in the area
Recommended to try this by a friend and I can confirm that the food is amazing. Enjoyed Hakka chicken, tasty and fresh steamed dumplings and shanghai chicken noodles. Looking forward to going back regularly!
