Very disappointed!! My husband ordered food tonight for pick up. When he arrived the food was not ready. No problem he waited. He came back with a few pieces of butter chicken and tandoori chicken with A LOT of rice. 75% of the bowl was rice. The macaroni salad was tasteless. Worst part was the chicken and sauce was COLD!!! Who serves butter chicken cold?? Having to microwave our take out food that we paid $30 for is absolutely ridiculous.
It was my first time eating here and I loved it. I didn’t know what to choose so I was given a sample of 4 different options. I ended up choosing the Karhai Kabob because I love masala sauce. The salads were also really fresh.
My husband and I came here about a month ago, and it was the most pleasant experience. The owner was there, and we told him it was our first time here. He let us try a couple of samples, and we were hooked. This is our favorite place to eat, we've been back three times. The food is so fresh, flavorful and the portion sizes are big at an affordable price. The owner and staff are very nice, and it's very clean. I highly recommend this place.
My husband and I went on a walk during our lunch break and decided to try this restaurant for the first time. There were a lot of options that we were unfamiliar with, but we were greeted warmly when we walked in and were each given a small sample plate of a few dishes to try. Everything was delicious! We ended up ordering the Tandoori Chicken wrap and he made us a special Achari Chicken wrap. Flavours were amazing the service and extra care were top notch. We will definitely be going back soon to get some bowls for dinner with the family. I'm still thinking about the spicy Nihari Chicken I sampled...mmmm!
This was our first time at Plates and Bowls. We walked into the Newmarket location and were instantly greeted. They asked if it was our first time and proceeded to give us samples based on our preferred spice level. The portions are large, prices are reasonable, and service was excellent. Looking forward to making this a regular stop for us!
We tried the Newmarket location tonight for a celebratory family dinner and everyone raved about the food! Hassan took good care of us, responding quickly to my text and calling me promptly to help tailor a menu specific to our needs as well as within our budget. He even put in extra effort (without me asking) to pick up whole tandoori chickens from their other location in order to accommodate our late request. We had tandoori chicken, tandoori fish fillet, rice, chicken chapali kebobs, butter chicken, nihari chicken, falafel, naan, paratha and salads (garden, apple coleslaw, chickpea). Everything was so tasty but we especially loved the butter chicken, nihari chicken and tandoori chicken. The food was flavourful with just the right amount of spice. We would absolutely come here again (especially with the wonderful customer service) and highly recommend that you give them a try!
First time my gf and I ate here. As soon as we walked in, they knew were were undecided with what to order and gave us a sample of each. This had made it harder to order as all the samples were delicious. Ending up deciding on a butter chicken/tandoori chicken mix and tandoori chicken/chicken masala mix. 10/10 on flavour and freshness, great portion size, and the excellent service. Can tell the owner was very passionate. Will be going back soon.
We were undecided when looked at the menu and the samples to provide made it harder to decide. End up getting butter chicken and tandoori chicken. It’s very good. Will be back for sure.
Ordered shawarma bowl in uber eats yesterday... So disappointed...First of all overpriced!!!$18.99 for a less than basic bowl!!!Very less quantity you get a few pieces of chicken and then its just rice...And taste is just mediocre...Worst restaurant I tried in newmarket in terms of money and quality!!!!
The take out container was 95% rice. The meat was ok but gone in 3 bites. They would be a 4 star if the rice to meat ratio was better. Total cost after delivery, fees, tip was $35 ridiculous for a tub full of rice.
