I ordered via uber twice and both time were cancelled at the last minute. I basically waited 1.5 hours before i was told the order was cancelled and i kept track of it very often. Whoever is running this business has no regards to your customer at all. I ordered delivery is because we did not cook our meal. If you cancel the last minute and i already waited over an hour for it then you are basically ruining my dinner. All i am saying is if you do not have the capacity to do my order then just cancel right away instead of leave me hanging. Take note of this please, it's very inconsiderate. Unfortunately i wont be ordering here again, thanks for showing me what it means as a failure. so long
First time visit this Cafe, this is hong kong style Cafe serving Hong Kong style curry, baked pork chop, Hainamniese chicken rice....I ordered Curry chicken rice today, the chicken pieces are deep-fried with curry sauce. I personally feel this is a bit dry, but the curry taste okay, do not expect a large sauce with it. I will come back to try others. Lunch set with soup and drinks, even passed the lunch hours, the meal set still come with the soup. The Russian 羅宋湯 ? soup is good, taste good & thick with adequate ingredients, this is the Authentic HKG old style soup, I love it. ?
Got takeout from this place, the service was friendly and fast. The price was decent, but when I picked up my order my order was missing items even though I repeated my order back twice and the lady on the phone repeated back to me again. So I'm not impressed with it but will give it another try.
Pretty good! Although the hot lemon tea was suspected that they add an unsafe element into the tea. The rest was okay except for the time, they said that the food would be ready in around 20 minutes, but it took about 50 minutes! Way too long!
Not many cha chan tang in Newmarket so I'm surprised it took me so long to come to this spot! It definitely surpassed my expectations and now I know I do not need to go to Markham just for a quick HK cafe meal! I found the service to be above and beyond, especially for a Chinese resto! I don't need all the extra check ins and other shenanigans. As long as you're relatively civil and bring me the right food, I'm good with it. I found them to be very kind and even moved us to a table away from the door in case we got cold once they cleaned up one of their tables near the inside. The meals were very reasonably priced and the portions were huge! I got the curry chicken rice and it served as two meals for me. The flavours were sooo good and I got a delicious soup and a lemon tea to go with it - all for 12.99 lunch special. They have all the regular HK cafe meals so there's something for everyone.Left with a full stomach and I am definitely coming back!
Hong Kong Style food in Newmarket. Good food, great proce
Food is great and is very reasonably priced. Service is very good as well!Ordered the baked chicken with Portuguese sauce on rice, satay beef with vermicelli noodle soup and egg sandwich combo, beef brisket noodle soup.Highly recommended!
The rating is purely for the 2 afternoon tea combo we got today. This is a HK style cafe so I don’t expect too much from the food quality as long as the price are reasonable. Well, for the afternoon tea, they are good value. Today I ordered the corn beef with egg sandwich and also a fried rice noodle (家鄉炒米), both are afternoon tea combo. Each dish come with a drink (Hong Kong style milk tea), and no extra charge for cold drinks I believe and 10% off for paying cash.So The total cost for these two combo are $16 something… I forgot the amount in the cents… both of the items are good in terms of quantity ( check out the photos) and also quality are not bad for this price! The sandwich is nice and thick and soft with runny egg and the rice noodle has lots of ingredient, I think there are like 6 pieces of shrimps in the dish… for this price, I am not complaining!!
Rudest service ever received from a restaurant. First time we went to try their food and the first thing the lady did was ask ordered ahead (with attitude). We said no and she just pointed to the take out menu behind the podium. When we ordered from the afternoon happy hour menu, the same lady punched in from the regular price menu. When we told her it's not the correct pricing, she said why didn't you tell me earlier about the happy hour. She kept talking back with attitude even when we mentioned to her it was the first time we were ordering from this place. When asked for the bill, she said she couldn't print another one after the transaction was completed. I've worked in retail/food industry enough to know you can always reprint a receipt. The other nicer staff said I'm sorry and printed the receipt for us.The rude lady then continues to talk to my boyfriend in Cantonese, talking back at him and said how she was supposed to know if it's our first time at this place. As someone that worked in the customer service industry for a long time, you always treat customers as if it's their first. This lady (even though I don't understand Cantonese) was talking back, not letting my boyfriend finish his sentence, had very rude attitude and just ruined our mood.We are never going back to this place as the staff doesn't seem to want to interact with customers. Such a disappointment.
I was super happy to find an authentic Hong Kong style cafe in Newmarket! Food is pretty good and consistent! Great service as well. The HK style milk tea is a must try. I will definitely visit often!
