The best fish and chips I’ve tried so far.Owner is an amazing person + he is running front of the house.Consistent as well!
Completely surpassed my family's expectations! Delicious Halibut and Haddock, fries deep fried to perfection! Gentleman at the front (presumably the owner) was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Hope to come back again!
My hubby and I went for lunch today. I ordered the Halibut and Chips, with a side of gravy. The fish was very yummy and the batter was perfect. The gravy tasted like a thick au jus with a really nice flavour, something different from a basic brown gravy and I like different. The fries were great, cripsy on the outisde and soft in the middle. My hubby had the hamburger with cheese and bacon. He too really enjoyed his meal, and he can be picky! He told me it was really good and cooked perfectly.The service was amazing! The owner J, brought us our meal to our table and checked in a few times to insure we had everything we needed. He was very friendly and it really did show how much he cared for our visit and our experience in his restaurant. The environment was quiet, comfortable and very clean. I left feeling happy and very satisfied (and full!). We will definitely revisit very soon :)
I've been going to j's for 4 years always such a pleasent experience very fairly priced food always taste fantastic and the service is top notch! Not to mention always clean and very well looked after in the restaurant! Highly recommend
After disappointment of no Haddock or Cod. So all ordered halibut. Please turn on your A/C. I had elderly ppl with me .Food was fast and fresh. Thank you.
Amazing fish special. Very tasty, crispy and fresh. Not greasy but not dried out. And most importantly, consistent. It's is the same taste every time. Just perfect. The guy (presumably owner) running the front of house is always so cheerful and friendly, ready to give you a thumbs up (every time).I always make sure to stop by when working in the area. . ????? The value is really presented well. Everything was fresh, well prepared, and priced fairly. This place is a gem. Highly recommend if you’re looking for traditional Halibut fish and fresh cut fries. Come hungry the portions are generous.
My hubby and I went to J’s for the first time today. The food was excellent! We both had halibut and chips which came with generous servings of fresh halibut fresh cut fries, home made coleslaw and tartar sauce.The fish and chips were cooked to perfection!I’m sorry that I don’t have any pictures to share, we were very hungry.We also had the opportunity to have a lovely conversation with the owner J. He told us all about his history in the food industry and with Fish and Chips in general. He explained to us why so many fish and chips restaurants are disappointing and don’t get the food right. J has been in business for over 30 years in various locations and it shows.We will be back again soon. We are thrilled to have found our fish and chips go-to.

Used to be my go to place because it was never too greasy and always delicious.My last order was the complete opposite however. It was so greasy it soaked through the containers. There was solidified grease on the top inside portion of the box as well. I couldn't finish it.I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and return because it had to have been a one off, but this wasn't edible and I had to throw it away.
