I moved to Newmarket almost a year ago and have been ordering from a Thai restaurant in the area. A couple of people recommended Golden Bell and told me to try it.I was not going to write a review because I thought maybe my experience was a one off, but when my friends ordered from the same restaurant yesterday and our food was just as boring I thought I am going to write a review.The customer service is absolutely amazing! Very friendly and helpful.The food on the other hand is tasteless and blah. It looks very nice and the portions are fine, but there is nothing flavourful about the meals. When I ordered a couple of days ago, 2 of us had pad thai. both of us ordered it with some sort of spice. It tasted like plain white rice noodles. The two other meals (chicken satay and cashew chicken) were also very blah. My colleagues told me to have a taste. No thanks.Last night I had the pad thai again . Just as bland. One of our friends had a thai curry vegetable which was what i was going to order but didn't. this too was bland. Thai food is usually very flavourful. I was disappointed. I will continue to order from the other restaurant. I'm sorry for the poor review.
This has been me and my family’s go-to Thai place since I was in elementary school (over 15 years now!)Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced.The restaurant itself is a very small, cozy, intimate setting and the service has always been very good. The food comes out quick, and staff are attentive and polite.Pics are of:- mango salad- veggie spring rolls- glass noodles- green curry- beef broccoliThe peanut sauce here is to die for and will have you craving more chips. Not to mention the chicken satay, pad Thai and seafood soup are also very delicious! ?Even when we order delivery it’s always fast and the food is piping hot! ???5/5 stars ?? Will always keep coming back for more ?
I love this place. I have been going to Golden Bell since I was a teenager and will make special trips to Newmarket from Bradford for their food. My absolute favourite Thai restaurant.
Their Thai food is so good. Have tried a few others, but these guys are my favourite ! Portions are big too so we always have leftovers...and they are so good as leftovers.

Usually great food but this time the Pad Thai was so dry we had to add broth and reheat it. Chicken satay also dry - huge disappointment when we were looking so forward to our takeout night
Our family has been long supporters of Bangkok Thai and have heard lots of good things about Thai Golden Bell. Tonight we decided to try this restaurant thru Uber Eats and were disappointed with the meal. The green curry chicken lacks several key components, not as flavorful as we are used to, and the "Crispy Thai Chicken" is NOTHING MORE than chicken balls! The coconut rice was good and the spring rolls were excellent. Overall not impressed and will not order from here again.
Went here last night and ordered Laksa soup and Basil Beef with a side of rice for me and my partner. When we got home and opened up the bag, we realized I did not get Laksa but Pad Thai which was a big issue (besides getting the wrong thing) because I cannot eat chicken. Suffice it to say, that was a waste. I am only giving this place 3 stars because my partner said their dish was very good and the store offered credit for next time.
