I went to A Taste Of The Islands on Thursday June 16, 2022 at 1:45 PM. I entered the restaurant, nobody was behind the bar. I waited 5 minutes, still there was nobody to come help me. I even called the store to see if someone would pick up or come to the front to answer and nobody came to answer the phone. I waited another 5 minutes for someone to help me and nobody showed up.Such a shame I could not try their food. From the customer service, I will not be going back here either.To the owner, I hope that you read this review and talk to your staff about it, unless it was you that didn't come to help.Again, I will never be going back here again.
Ordered Jerk Chicken and my wife requested if the could do half chicken/half pork...They did we were grateful, we got the best of two flavors...with the rice and peas of course...Taste was awsome, but I only gave them 3 stars because there were pieces of crushed bone in the mix....Hope you have a great dental plan...frustrated on a number of crunches that hurt.....Would I go back unsure as of yet....
I ordered the Jerk Chicken wrap and Curry Goat Roti wrap for with a side order of fries and salad.Every thing was amazing but the top winner was the Curry Goat Roti Wrap with the salad. A definite must try at this restaurant.❤️
I went to Taste of the Islands the first day it opened when it was located at Mulock and Sandford St. I have been lifelong customer. The staff are amazing, the food is so good. 10/5.. the Jerk Pork and Rice with that gravy is absolute heaven.
Over priced and disgusting roti skins. I asked the girl if it was fresh it wasnt days old. First and last time I buy from this place. Even my poor roti skills is better than this place.
Today was my first visit to this restaurant. I occasionally traveled to Parkdale to go to a West Indian place when my son lived the. The food was excellent there so I had pretty high expectations based on the reviews on this site. I was definitely not disappointed. I ordered the goat roti, was excellent. I talked to Richard and found him to be friendly and checked on me several times to ask if I needed anything else. The service was very quick and the restaurant is very clean. If you have a West Indian spice craving, I definitely recommend A Taste of the Islands....and If you live in York Region, no need to travel to Toronto.
The jerk pork is my go to.. Its always succulent and well seasoned.. The portions are great and pricing fair... Rich the chef is cool as hell... I've got nothing but good things to say about the food and their great service
Amazing authentic jerk chicken, fresh and well prepared. Was looking forward to every bite. I ordered the jerk chicken dinner with some beef patties. Everything was scrumptious. But my goodness did it have some heat to it. To all those wanting some good grub, this joints gotcha covered.
A little expensive,how ever fully worth. Portion sizes are amazing and food is equally as good. We have ordered many times and they never disappoint. Definition a must try jerk pork dinner and oxtail dinner excellent portion sizes. Delivery was quick and food was still hot.
The menu and service were above our expectations. We surely loved the environment of this spot. Wonderful place to take my family out for lunch.
