Best dim sum in town! My canto family and friends all come here lots. Been great for many years. Authentic and delicious
Excellent dim sum. I would compare them to the best dim sum restaurants in Vancouver, San Francisco, Sydney Australia or Hong Kong. Great selection on the menu as well. The price is very reasonable. I highly recommend this place.
The dumplings are the highest quality we’ve found in Ottawa. The porc shumai and chuchow fungor are particularly delicious and full of meat. You just need to be patient to get a table if you didn’t call ahead to reserve.
We had family dinner here tonight and all dishes are great. We ordered soup, lobster, fish, veggie, seafood, beef, chicken and yin yang fried rice... etc.
The food is really good - most of the food we ordered was salt and pepper options, very tasty. I also like the option that they have separate rooms, it's very convenient during COVID times or if you come as a group and want privacy.
I was invited to dine here. But HELL NO! SHARK FIN SOUP is in the name of this place! The owners Should NOT serve this and need to change their name! Those who support this barbaric killing of sharks should face the same fate as these poor majestic animals!
Food is adequate. Customer service is hugely lacking. We asked for some forks and the waitress literally threw it on our table, without an apology and rushed off. They seemed put out whenever you ask them for anything. They re lucky they even received a tip.
The food is ok but the service is often rude and non-Asians are sometimes treated with contempt. One time I went alone for dim sum and was ignored while others came into the restaurant after me were seated. Another time, I was told by the manager that I would not be served. On two other occasions, when I went with 3 friends we were bypassed several times and only served from trellises that had already been picked over. None of us will be back as there is much better dim sum elsewhere.
I have had takeout a couple times from here. There’s a 10% off coupon for takeout if you order from their website.-Lobster - good but maybe over cooked-BBQ pork - amazing-Salt and pepper shrimp - hit or miss. Oil seemed old. Will avoid in the future.-Soft shell crab - avoid. Seemed burnt and cooked in very old oil.-black bean clams - black bean sauce tastes like the one from mediocre Chinese restaurants (the one that is thick and sweet). Perhaps the recipe has changed over the years.-eggplant and deep fried tofu- good! Will probably return for other dishes.
Went there last night for dinner. The shrimp shui mai are great. Hearty and tender. The eggplant in garlic sauce was also good, though it couldve used a touch less cornstarch and a touch more salt. The 1/2 fried chicken was excellent. My only complaint is that it retains a bit of a chicken “smell.” Maybe a more pungent marinade could eliminate this. The sesame beef was also very good, albeit prepare yourself for a perfumey orange bomb. All in all a good meal. Not my first time at this restaurant and not my last.
