Second time going and just as satisfied. A forewarning that the tables are lined with plastic so if you're coming in sweaty from the heat you might stick to it a bit but there is AC so that problem goes away quickly enough.Reccomend getting Lemon Chicken and Black been sauce fried noodles to mix together. And Mango pudding!! It's not on the in-person menu but just go ahead and write it down or ask for it. It's super refreshing and comes with this almost savoury/bitter milk sauce that really enhances it.It's super affordable and great food. Go around 3pm if you can for more quiet times. After a small family of four left my girlfriend and I were the only ones dining in for the remainder of our meal which was great for us. Also a plus is that you can head right over to the dairy queen right beside it once you're done. It wasn't open today so we couldn't go but hopefully they get power back soon! It's a great combo. Order plenty and take it home to enjoy for longer.
Great place to share many dishes with family/friends. Authentic Chinese food, has an expansive menu, many dim sum dishes. Start off with a classic pot of jasmine/green tea, large space inside, portions are HUGE! Prices are very reasonable, especially if you're in a larger group of say... 4-6 people. I went with just 2 people and we ordered to Dinner for 2 special, definitely had enough food to feed the both of us and have leftovers to bring home.
I came here with my wife to try their Peking Duck 3 ways (Peking duck skin/wrap, lettuce wrap with duck meat and veggies, and duck soup). It was good for the area and the server was quite attentive. Food quality was good and came out in a timely manner. They also provided a small dessert at the end which made the meal that much better. I would definitely come back to this place.
This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. We had made reservations a week in advance. When we got there we were placed at the back of the restaurant. No one came to check our order for over 20 minutes from seating time. I had to physically find a server and they all had an excuse why they couldn't take our order.once we finally managed to place our order we waited for over an hour for any of our order to arrive. what arrived was minimal and not enough for a party of 6.No water was served. By the second hour we decided to leave. It's important note that this place only prioritizes it's Asian clients. If you are not Asian they make you feel unwelcome and make no effort to welcome you. I will make sure never to visit this place again. Terrible terrible experience.
Terrible experience. If you aren't Asian don't expect any kind of service or hospitality. I had to ask 5 different staff why we weren't being served. No one would approach our table. Waited 20 minutes to even have water served. Waited for 2 hours for our food to be partially served while their Asian clients were being served promptly. They still charged us for the full oder even tho only a miniscule part was served.
Delicious food and courteous staff. Egg rolls are as good as Golden Palace egg rolls. Highly recommended, lots of variety on the menu. Good sized servings.
Ng’s Cuisine is one of my Chinese go-to restaurants in Ottawa over the past 2 years. They serve authentic chinese dishes and have staff that speak Cantonese. One of their servers are also from GTA so it feels nice to have someone from my city! They stay open slightly later than others, and their food has always been fresh. I highly recommend their sizzling plates, I’ve tried a few of them and they’re all pretty good! A nice aroma and presentation to the table that will get you salivating a little.Still haven’t found a place that’s 100% GTA quality, but this can fill the craving while you’re in Ottawa.
I organized a work lunch for 8 colleagues including myself. We were the first ones to arrive at 11:15 am. Unfortunately, they were quite short staffed with 2 staff serving the entire dining room. Service for our table was unexpectedly slow. For some reason, other tables who arrived later than us seemed to get all their food first. 2-3 out of the 20+ items we ordered trickled in in the first 30 min but then nothing for almost an hour. I asked about it once and was reassured. Nothing happened. 1 pm (90 min after sitting down) less than half of our order had arrived. I spoke with the manager and owner. Suddenly food magically appears. Once their crowd died down the service was much better. Felt like they were focused on looking after their regulars first. Food came out piping hot and fresh when it arrived. So no complaints there. It was just the huge delay was stressful when many of us had to return to work afterwards. 3.5 stars if I could give that for subpar service today.
We came for our anniversary. Staff was awesome. The wait was long but that is because they are great. We ordered the peking duck with vodka shots and I strongly recommend it ?
We were looking for a new Chinese eatery near our home, and every time we passed Ng's Cuisine the lot was full so we thought we'd give it a go. Even though some reviews suggested slow service, we wanted a leisurely lunch having been to other similar places with a usual turn around tie of 30 minutes. The ordering was straight forward enough with a place-mat/dis sum menu for ordering. Our soup came in an acceptable time , and a shrimp rice roll, but that was it. everything else didn't. Initially we were enthusiastic about the taste and quality of the food. Other tables came and ate while we waited and waited. Our concerns voiced to wait staff fell on deaf ears. after 90+ minutes having had soup, pot stickers and a dried out pork shau mai, we asked the server for the bill and were told to take our concerns to the cashier. Here we were shown out place-mat/menu with all the items stroked out with highlighter, and we had to actually demand that the missing items be removed from the bill. Then we were told that steamed dishes take hours to prepare (total bunk) and then we were shown our "sticky rice" which had been placed on a shelf and never served to us; as if the fact that it had been prepared and not served was somehow our problem. I believe the dried out shau mai had also suffered the shelf "pause" before service.Food was OK. Service was abysmal. Organisation was non-existent.Will we be back? Extremely unlikely.
