It was...alright.I remember coming here years ago and loved it but just came here the other day and I had to question if my memory was bad or if I was just excited to be in the city at that time I initially first went.First off the food is very expensive for the amount you get. Even the starter, which was a decent price, the chips are so overloaded compared to the spinach dip. When the waiter came by to take it away almost half the chips were still on the plate with no dip left. Seriously the portion sizes here need to be looked at.Secondly, the food just tasted okay. It wasn't astounding, even the new meal which I got (Brisket burger) it just tasted mid. I thought the spices would be nice but it was so overwhelmed with bbq sauce that you could hardly even taste the meat. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, I will say that but the "crispy cajun onions" first of all weren't crispy and secondly had almost no taste to them at all. Not to mention used very sparingly, unlike the menu image. I think I only had like 4 small pieces on my burger.Thirdly, the lemonade I ordered I was excited for because it was only 2.99 but then when refill time came up the refills weren't free? I get some places do that, but it was just weird. Someone in the booth next to us ordered a soda and they brought him a can...which I assume also isn't free refills. I get not having refills for alcohol, but every other drink? Really? Especially when it's 3-4$ a drink?Would I be going back: NoIs it worth the price: NoWould I recommend: NoThere are much better places around the area with actual decent menu prices & refills.Plus I just want to add as a side note, the man who served us was trash talking his coworkers right beside us the entire time (we were sitting near the bar) and it just came off as extremely rude. Him calling some of the female staff "Dwarf."Not to mention some bar guests watching us the entire meal.Just an absolute horrible experience. I hope the female servers aren't treated that way everyday, I feel bad for them working in that kind of environment.
Ordered the “sizzling” steak fajita. It was okay. The veggies were mushy and the plate wasnt even hot when it came out so i dont know how you could even call that sizzling. The portions were small for $24 and the only redeeming factor for this meal was the steak which was cooked & seasoned quite well
If this was my first time eating here I wouldn't come back. The service was so so to extremely slow considering it wasn't very busy and it was not dinner rush. Food was not prepared as requested. Baked potato was literally mummified in salt causing me to tear off the delicious baked skin. Not hot butter barely melted and if course butter was rock hard. Steak was excellent. I have eaten at another Montana's and it barely seemed like the same restaurant. Very disappointing seeing as we haven't been out to eat in 8 months. It's a hard pass for me to return to this particular location let alone to Montana's in general.
We had the large rack of ribs. With honey garlic sauce, meat falls off the bone.Came with lots of fries. I had the coleslaw. I think I would've liked an oil n vinegar dressing on it. All and all always great food. I highly recommend the ribs.
The service at Montana's was great.Such a good meal, I love the apple butter sauce on the ribs and my friend enjoyed his burger. The skillet cookie is to die for, it was so good and the toffee sauce on top just makes it perfect.I have been here twice and would definitely come here again!
Solid meal. Sirloin steak was nicely done medium rare and meat was very tender despite being a leaner cut. Server Matt was excellent. Other staff were very friendly and welcoming. Seating was spacious and covid friendly
This is a review that more than likely reflects each location as they are a chain restaurant. The ceasar xtra spicy i ordered had zero alcohol?. How do i know, because im the person that only needs 1 drink to feel the buzz... I drank my drink & it only tasted of tabasco sauce & tomatoes... Zero alcohol. The spinach dip was bland?. The wings were good but not very saucey. The cesar salad tastes like a basic grocery store packaged salad... Not good. After 2 yrs of not being able to get out for dining it was a very dissappointing experience & i would not come back...?? Not sorry. This was once our favorite place to go regularly. New beginnings.
I went for my birthday dinner and I was so surprised how much I didn't enjoy it not sure if it was because they might have been under staffed but the service and food was not what I was expecting from Montanas. My medium/well steak was so over done that it was dry and hard to swallow
So my wife and I decided to dine out after almost a year due to the pandemic. We chose Montana's on Merivale and were very much looking forward to an enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the food and the service. The steaks were tough and inedible, fries were cold. We asked for mushrooms and onions on the steak, but they were immersed in some kind of icky sauce.
their service to be honest with you is (A1)...and...;their food is........(A1).....anne has gone there 4-5 times now, cause you guy's offer order in to curbside pickup....(which when "In dining", the atmosphere combination event that make's up a simple dinner, comes down to a service class (A1), value in mullenglobal's views...thank you and keep up the great work serving our Capital of Canada...Ottawa
