Great terrace but only half of it is truly shaded. The front part has a few sparse umbrellas that are more decorative than useful. Inside is large and noisy. Big open space with concrete walls and few dividers means lots of echo and reverberations. Go hear to have fun and be loud. Don't go here for an intimate dinner for two. Do go here for a fun date of laughing and huge frozen drinks and really big draft beer mugs.Lone star is renowned for its amazing fajita bread made on site and its grilled meats and free nacho chips and fresh salsa. It truly excels at this! It's also the only place I know of where you can eat alligator!
Ordered Fajitas for 4, was almost 30 mins late from my pick up time, and take it home to find out the meat is so overcooked it’s inedible. Called the manager, who said I should drive back to the restaurant and they’ll give me a few extra sides for the “ inconvenience “. This is the 3rd time this specific location has messed up an order. Not coming back. Better off going to Huntclub or kanata location for MUCH better consistency.
Have been enjoying Lone Star fajitas for the better part of 35 years. Their fajitas are the best however stick to those as if you stray from their go-to the quality control is not always not so good. Oddly enough they miss putting half the ingredients in the fajita bowls.Good times and great beers.
Food is delicious, service is very good, restaurant is clean, theme is nice, and overall experience is good. However, I think the fajitas are a bit over priced, so are most of the menu items.
I'm not at all trying to kick a business while down if there's staffing issues. It's just the fact it was my daughter's birthday dinner tonight and it just wasn't pleasant. I'm very patient to begin with and I wish I timed the delays we experienced. When we were seated we waited a ridiculous amount of time to jusy order our drinks. We mentioned it was our daughters birthday and just got a nod. By all means if this location doesnt do anything - that's perfectly okay...just tell us is all. We then waited another huge chunk of time to just order. I would say the wait for the food was relatively normal but the portions were silly. We ordered Texas size fajitas and I have no doubt in my mind we got a dos portion. No plates and no fixings. A staff member quickly got them for us. When we finished our food and waiting to order the desserts...ask for the bill...this must have been a solid 20-30min of just waiting. The kids now are losing their patience and my father cannot wait to storm off. It didn't feel busy may I add..it just felt like there was literally no staff to be found aside from the hostess. Asked for our desserts to go at this point - paid and split. As i got up looking at other tables pretty well in the same boat just a table of empty plates awkwardly waiting. I think it honestly can't hurt for the hostess to just be transparent upon arrival and make it clear its short staffed. I think it would go a long way in giving the customer an impression of the playing field. I will not be back for a long while...Im sorry I'm juat not going through that with kids again.
Beef fajitas were good, very juicy and tender. The tortillas are made to order. The strawberry margarita had sour candies and was too heavy on the sugar and too light on the tequila. Nachos... I wouldn't buy them again, not enough meat or toppings, all I could taste was the weird pink sauce.
so disappointed paid 145$ . the food quality is terrible and the portions are disgustingly small
Christmas Eve was a disaster and they know it. Lineup of people outside, 20 minute wait to get inside and be told they're behind and to go wait in the car. Another 20 minutes later we received a phonecall rudely telling us our order was ready.Get home and no tortillas - we aren't the only ones who had this issue that night as 2 other people were there for the same reason as me. Takes 15 minutes to get our tortillas & we are offered chips and salsa to make up for it.We ordered 2 days in advance and receive an hour and a half wait total, Cold food, melted margaritas, 5 pieces of shrimp, rock hard chorros 2 condiment packs for a 4 person order. This cost us $165?We were offered chips and salsa to " make up for it " that's a joke right? $165 order, cold, missing food and that's what we're offered as compensation?Safe to say LoneStar Barrhaven single handedly ruined 50 peoples Christmas eve. Classic from this restaurant.I honestly don't think I've ever seen such an unorganized restaurant and will never be going back there.
My son Owen drew this on the kids menu!!! XD It's Adam Sandler! Great menu!
Lone Star has been our "go to" for Mexican food since it opened in 1986 and in all that time, we have never been disappointed. The food is always great and the staff are super friendly.I do miss the deep-fried ice cream though. I'm hoping it comes back once COVID restrictions and the chances of shutting down again have come to an end.
