All electricity was out and this was one of the few places opened for breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised by the food and the welcoming atmosphere. There were only 2 servers, but were more than efficient. I loved how all the staff chipped in to make this a happy situation. Enjoyed the food. Will go back for evening sports views as well. Thank u all for the great experience during the horrible time of no electricity.
Came here to grab a quick bite to eat. My partner said the wings were famous and he hadn't visited since the 90s. The wings were very tasty, we got Hot and 40 Creek BBQ. My only wish is they served the wings with blue cheese or ranch instead of sour cream. My partner also says he wishes he got hotter wings. The fries were very tasty too. Would definitely come back to try the nachos. It was as loud as a sports bar can get but eventually died down. We were able to find a cozy spot away from the noise.
Very cozy, old school sports bar. Lots of screens if that's your thing.All the food was home made and delicious. Great value. For what it does, it does it very well. They also have a fun kids menu with lots of options.Service was friendly and attentive.Check out the picture with the daily deals.
A fine sports-bar, with what you would expect from a sports bar. Wings, burgers, pub fare and a normal beer selection.This would be a good place to watch a hockey Game, or meet up with friends after a softball game.I gave a 4/5 stars because it's just a "normal" bar, as nothing really elevates it beyond a normal spot. (In my opinion.). With that said, go check it out and enjoy some wings and beer!
I really liked their food, it was marvellous. Surprisingly it didn't took long and I got to eat quickly.Very good service :)
My wife and I really enjoyed Local Heroes. First visit and we will be back. Very friendly and fun environment with a great menu. Cheers!
The best chicken wings ever!Along with an excellent greek salad.A must for an excellent entertaining evening in a sport bar.
Good food and great service. Chairs could use refresh, bit hard on the butt.
Waitress (Michaela) claims to have brought the 24$ wings I ordered but didn't. Spoke to manager and he sided with her immediately, I asked to check cameras and he said no. Never going back and really wouldn't recommend. You OWE ME 24$ LOCALS
Well we arrived at 5:50 and were immediately seated. By 6:20 we had not had any contact with an employee, no drinks, no “we’ll be with you in a minute, NOTHING. I walked over to the hostess and asked her if someone had forgotten us. I also mentioned that we had to be out of the restaurant by 7:45 as we had somewhere else to go. She said she saw no reason why we couldn’t be out by 7:45 and she came and took our orders immediately. Our drinks came fairly quickly. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. By 7:15 I was getting a bit nervous so I went to see the hostess again. I told her it might be best if we pay for our drinks and hit up a fast food joint as at that point we had 30mins left. She agreed and we went and got our jackets. But then she came back out and said there was only 4 minutes left on our order. So we took off our jackets and sat back down. Honestly at this point we were very hungry and just wanted to eat and get out of there. So we waited, and waited. 4 minutes turned into 15mins. By 7:30 we still hadn’t received our food. We only had 15 mins left at this point so we made the call to leave. I explained to the hostess that we were out of time and she apologized and got us the drink bill. She did offer to have the food bagged for us once ready but eating ribs and nachos with my family of 5 in my 5 seater while driving across town really wasn’t an option for us. Plus honestly I was done waiting. So I paid the bill (no discount for our troubles) and we left. My husband’s birthday and our first time out as a family in over a year. Was stuck with 3 crabby teenagers at an escape room as everyone was hungry. Too bad cause back in the day we used to love going to the local heroes on St-Laurent but I don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon. I do want to mention I understand there is a shortage of workers right now. That’s why I asked and mentioned that we had to be out by a certain time. I also want to point out the hostess/waitress was extremely polite, apologetic and she was working extremely hard. At the end of the day we were there 1 hour and 50 minutes and didn’t eat one thing. If you are that short staffed please limit your capacity.
