What a fantastic place!! A friend of mine brought me to this little take-out restaurant and we discovered not only a great menu with generous portions and a fair price, but also amazing and warm people.Being in a hotel not too far, we came by foot to place our order. However, it was raining very hard. So the owner very kindly accommodated us so that we could savor his dishes in the dry and he took us back to our hotel himself with his car. Wow!!I warmly recommend everyone to support this restaurant owner who goes above and beyond. And by the way, this was the best stir fry I ever had !!
The in-house Shanghai pan-fried pork buns alone is worthy of a huge thumbs up, but I find all the noodle dishes are done well too. The portion size is above par and not overwhelmed with filler ingredients like onions or cabbage. My favorites are the Singapore Vermicelli, Beef Rice Noodle in Black Bean Sauce and Shanghai Fried Noodle. I also quite like their hot and sour soup, although I would prefer it spicer. Still, this is good quality, comfort Chinese food at a very affordable price. The couple who run this business in a hidden, out-of-the-way industrial warehouse space are welcoming and friendly. This should be the go-to ordering place for those who live in the south and west end of the city. However, I do believe the business is available on all delivery apps.
Oh my goodness. The quantity, quality and general value is unmatched at this place. The fried buns are my new favourite. The owners are also very very kind and lovely to chat with. I will definitely be coming back!
Everything is so fresh and delicious! Our favourites are Shanghai noodles, szechuan chicken, general Tao, and the pan fried dumplings. Dishes are hot, veggies are crunchy and portions are generous. Only Chinese take-out we like in the city!
a hidden gem serving incredible shanghai pan fried buns!! i’m shanghainese and i can tell you they’re the best in ottawa. the main chef is from shanghai and it shows. tastes like the buns i have when i’m visiting home. super fair prices for incredible quality; i highly recommend this place to anybody! the owners are beyond kind and i can’t wait to return.
Absolutely loved the restaurant! Amazing service as well as food portion was really good for the price. The area was not hard to find despite what other reviews said.10/10 definitely recommend and would come back for more!
Their buns are Amazing!!! So juicy and tasty.The wonton soup is delicious, especially with their spicy sauce.The owner is really friendly and the price is very reasonable.Highly recommend and it will be my regular restaurant for sure!!

I had the general Tao chicken, garlic spare ribs, yang chow fried rice and they were all amazing.PROS:Portion size - The best part of eating here in my opinion, the portion size is amazing. Lots of restaurants have tiny portions for their prices, but Hung Hung House packed the containers as full as humanly possible. With the general Tao chicken my takeout container was completely full, and the container of rice on the side was also full to the lid. The amount of spare ribs I received was double what I’ve gotten anywhere else for the same price, and they’re the best I’ve had so far. It may seem like a small detail but you get plenty of value for your money here.Food quality - Each item was great in taste/general quality. The general Tao chicken was amazing, not too sweet and the breading was really nice. The spare ribs are also really well done, not soggy at all and again not too sweet. Someone complained on here about tasting old oil, I never noticed anything so I assume the owner took notice and made the change.Ownership/Service - 10/10 in this category as well, the owner is super friendly and a pleasure to interact with. I messed up my DoorDash order and didn’t realize until I picked it up, but the owner was very nice and allowed me to grab the items I forgot to pick.CONS:- Maybe the location? Someone else here said it was hard to find but I disagree, the door is clearly marked with their logo so it’s pretty easy to find. There’s really nothing around the restaurant but I took my food to a bench nearby and enjoyed it just fine. Everything else the restaurant has to offer definitely makes up for this, I honestly didn’t mind but I figured I’d mention it since some people care a bit more about the location.All in all I was really happy with my experience here, I bought my food yesterday (as of the day of this review) and I’m currently eating it for lunch again today. 10/10 would recommend to anyone, I’ll definitely be coming here anytime I want Chinese food. No photos from me unfortunately, I ate everything before I realized I wanted to post a review lol.
