The upside of the restaurant is that they hand prepare many of their products. I think almost anything breaded and their egg rolls are made fresh here vs some Chinese Food restaurants are purchasing wholesale in bulk from Sysco and other suppliers. When you visit you can see a bit into the kitchen and it does not look like a disaster which is a plus.The downsides are the staff are not friendly at all - I would give them at best a 4 out of 10 for demeanor and helpfulness. But the biggest detriment is the portion sizes are small. Your going to be paying $8 to $13 for what amounts to less then 2 cups of food. We found their portion sizes are much smaller then other Chinese Food restaurants we have tried in Ottawa. Their full order is like the half order at other places.So we cannot recommend. There are simply better choices that provide equal quality but better value for the money.
The food here is great. The food that we got is not as oily compared to other Chinese restaurants. Would eat here again.
I ordered fried rice, and a beef dish, it was awful.. I will never go again. May be other dish are good, it was rice missed with soy sauce...
Awesome food! Loved the springroll and egg roll, general tso's chicken (extra spicy) was great as well. Oh and the almond cookie. So crumbly and chewy, will have to buy a few next order!
We ordered our food at 5:55 & the liar at Cathay said it would be 45 min. Over an hour & a half & I called to see where it was. The liar said it was almost here. 15 min & no food. Lousy service & the food isn't even that great!!!
So gross. It did not taste good. I ordered online and the heading of each item on the online menu is just the name of the dish and not what's in the dish. Each restaurant prepares the same dish differently. My chicken dish tasted like fish and my vegetable dish tasted like fish as well. Very very disappointing. Not going to order there anymore.
More bang for ur buck. Tasty. Respectful staff n they never got my order wrong. Just a great spot.
A friend of mine inteoduced me to Cathay back in my college days, haven't stopped going since then, really recommend. I always get the combo #8 and you really get your money's worth, I typically always have left overs !
I'm not from Ottawa. But if your wanting good food. I recommend the egg rolls. They are my favorite. Good food, great prices.
I love this place we always get the house vegetable special, it's so good. Service is great and food is booms ? ? ?
