This is not real jamaican cooking. Too many complaints to list. i ordered extra large oxtail / beans from uber and receved medium, at best large oxtail. Not even 1 piece of lima bean was present. The smell was off. I know jamaican food, the food was boderlne spoiled. The plantain was not sweet nor soft. It was old and hard. The fried dumpling was not fresh. Seems it was reheated and about 5-7 days old. Fried dumpling was wrapped poorly in tin foli. Too much scoth pepper in oxtail. Too many complaints. All of the food was old and/or borderline stale. The seller should not be allowed to sell this. I asked uber eats for a refund. The 50 some reviews on google must be from friends and family. Terrible food.
After checking out all the great reviews I was eager to try out eventhough there was 1 from 'reparation hub' which sounded terrible, I went with an open mind...Now I can say without doubt 'reparation hub guy' was seriously on crack??.. or maybe the pick up guy didn't get it from this restaurant...anyhow..the food is just like yaad style...fully endorse..
I just wanted to stop by and say this is the best Jamaican restaurant food I’ve ever eaten. Trust me I come from a family of cooks. Once I went into the restaurant I knew I was in the right place just by the smell alone. The elder at the front was so patient and sweet. I will definitely be spending my money with then again!
This place has a delicious and yummy jerk chicken. I went today for my first time and I couldn’t decide whether I wanted the jerk chicken or ox tail. The jerk chicken was delicious! Next time I would like the ox tail. For the price that you pay for, they give a pretty handsome portion. Definitely will go here again.Edit** I finally got the oxtail. It was DEEEELICIOUS!!!
This is the best Jamaican Restaurant in GTA by a mile in terms of quality, authenticity and price. I have been coming here for more than 15 years both for take-out and catering for my office parties or my end of year celebration for my running group and the feedback is always same; this is the best Jerk Chicken, the best Oxtail, the best fish or even the best rice and peas. I have also brought people here from Jamaica and they all agreed that this is very good authentic Jamaican food, especially the curried goat. Now that I have gone vegan, you have to try the curried chickpeas (Channa). The right mix of spices and the best curry that that make the curried goat a fan favourite.However, you don't need to believe me, just go and try for yourself. You wont be disappointed. Put all this food together with the friendliness of the staff as well as the very clean sitting area and the only thing missing is the Caribbean sea out front.
My family and I have been coming here for years, and it is my favourite place in the GTA to grab Jamaican food. When I recommend Viv's, I find that people are surprised to find out that they also offer personal portions as well.Viv's is a small family owned business, and you can tell that everything is prepared with love and care. The portions are generous and consistently fresh and delicious (my go-to meal here is the jerk chicken). Great customer service, and the restaurant is always very clean and well maintained.Would confidently recommend to anyone :)
We've been using Viv's Catering for many years. The food is always very delicious the service is always exceptional! She's catered for our children's baby christenings, birthday parties, anniversaries, and other important events. I would highly recommend!!!
