We had the Brussels sprouts appetizer and it tasted like some one poured lemon juice and a cup of salt over them. It was so sour and salty that we couldn’t even eat it. I had the blackened chicken bowtie pasta dish which I read on here was very good, it also tasted like a plate of salt. I actually like saltier food. But this was insane. Practically inedible. They also called it a pesto dish- there was no pesto. It took almost 10-15 min to get a drink of water even though we were one of only 2 tables at the time! My first drink also came with a fly in it. Writing this I’m almost laughing because how entirely poor this experience was. What a terrible restaurant. Don’t go. From the outside we actually thought it was closed/abandoned. There are way better options. Our first pick was Saucy (still haven’t been but maybe check that place out first) but it was closed on a Tuesday. So disappointed in what became of our date night dinner due to the poor food and the poor service.
We love coming to union social eatery! Always nice staff and the food is amazing. Options on the menu are very good too
Food was decent, server friendly and helpful. Service was slow for drinks, cleaning table and bill, fast for dinner. I think the server was also pulling duty as bartender though. My only real peeve, but a significant one, is that all the bench seating is damaged with big vinyl patches missing. My wife wearing a skirt scratched her leg sliding into a booth and I was a bit embarrassed as I had talked the restaurant up based on trip advisor reviews and our guest's first impressions weren't great. I encourage the owner to repair the seating asap, as the rest of the decor was okay.
We visited the Union Social Eatery yesterday for the first time. It was highly rated on Trip Advisor, so we were looking forward to it. We were directed to combined bench and chair seating and noticed the vinyl was peeled off a section of the bench and asked to be changed to a booth. The booth seating also was missing vinyl and my wife wearing a skirt scratched her leg sliding in. I looked to change booths, but all the other booths also had damaged vinyl. It was a disappointment as I had told our guests we were taking them to one of the better restaurants in Mississauga and first impressions were poor. The server was friendly and helpful, the steak and frites and fish and chips were good. I found the Caesar salad fairly bland. Service was a little hit and miss. The server took a long time to bring our drink order, but dinner was fairly quick. He only partially bussed the table before we left, so we were eating dessert with dirty dinner plates around us. The bill took a long time to arrive after we requested it. I think they were short-staffed, as our server was also tending bar. Overall, the food was decent, the service okay and the decor - nice except for the seating - which presented a very poor first impression. I encourage the owner to get the seating re-upholstered asap.
Good food and service. The food was decent and menu had some good options that I will be going back for.The beer selection is pretty good as well
Really liked this place. Outside looked like a strip mall, but inside felt like a bar. The food was delicious. I had the fish and chips. It was battered and fried perfect. The kids loved the chicken tenders and pasta from the kids menu. They had a decent selection of local beers. Nice place.
Was really slow to get the food out and it was not even that busy
Great ambiance, decent food ;)
Good food and service. Restaurant was too warm though.....
Exceptional customer service and quality of food and drinks served.
